      Since July 2022 I have completed all courses except for 2 remaining classes to complete medical assistance certification. I advised I would not be taking their phlebotomy course and yet still charged. I already have a phlebotomy license. After being placed on leave with false allegations by association I requested to return after 6 months to complete the course. I was denied the right to return. Because of this action I am unable to transfer any of the accredited classes to another school. The denial of my request to return is unfair. As a student I would be forced to pay twice to complete my education. Not one school I have called in my area of residence accepts the classes I have already taken. I would very much value the opportunity to complete the course to finish the 2 classes remaining.

      My daughter ******************************* went to ************************* 2021-2022 in the agreement off graduating at **** hours , which I paid in full the $22,500.00, once the new law took effect for **** for completion. Triniti was force to continue to go to school even thought she was over the **** hours, we asked for reimbursement and they said that was not possible. In addition, the school that I paid a good chunk of money to failed to teach my daughter all the technical aspects to do hair and to set her up pass her *********** test to get licensed, which is what we paid for. I personally went in to get my hair done by my daughter, to help her gain experience and if the students didn't have a client, all they did was sit on their phones, which is part of the **** hours I paid for.

      Hi! After further investigation it looks like this is not our campus! I believe this student was enrolled at the ************************* Sacramento MTI school. Unfortunately we are not affiliated!

      I am rejecting this response because: This the only location that comes up on BBB, how to you suggest to resolve this with a different campus?

      It is the ************************* located *******************************************, however this one does not appear when I search it on BBB just the Arden location.

      Greetings,

      Due to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, we cannot provide specific student information to a third-party without explicit written consent from the student themselves.  In this case, the parent of a student contacting the BBB does not equate to sufficient authorization to disclose information surrounding a student's enrollment.

      With that said, we did reach out to ******************** directly and explained to her our tuition accrual and refund policy.  All students are charged tuition based on the number of weeks that they are enrolled at the college and not the number of hours they actually attend.  This is because we do not have control over a student's ability to show up to the classes we have scheduled for them.  Our standard policy is to prorate student tuition up to 75% of a program's length in weeks.  However, due to the change in law that ******************** mentioned, we made an exception to our policy and allowed proration up to 100% of this program's length in weeks.  Under this arrangement, if a student was enrolled for 100% of a published program length in weeks, they would still be charged the full tuition regardless of how many hours they were actually able to attend.

      We hope this provides some clarity to the situation and we are happy to answer any further questions.

      Sincerely,

      MTI College

      I am rejecting this response because: Nothing has been resolved, issues were brought up to ********************* about not being satisfied with the academics and she basically said that's just how it is, it's not based on hours, (then how come if Triniti missed a certain amount of hours, she would be put on probation or would be let go?) however; no refund was offered and still Triniti is still on her own to learn what is on the state exam to pass it. I also mentioned how Triniti expressed to ***** several times that she felt she was not getting the help she needed to learn, that the advisers were hard to find when help was needed and they would put Triniti down for not smiling all the time and mainly said to listen to them because they have a license and she doesn't and yet management knew nothing about these concerns. They also had Triniti take surveys about her teacher that were supposed to be anonymous, where she would write her concerns about the teachers and those were not brought to management attention either.

      The entire experience with this school was terrible for her and I wish we chose a different school all together, disappointment at its best.

      Greetings,

      We are still unable to provide specifics surrounding an individual student on this forum.  Regarding your conversation with *****, she explained that the tuition accrual and refund policies are based around weeks attended as we have no control over whether a student is physically able to attend their class and earn hours or not.  You are correct that we do place a student on probation or expel them if their attendance drops below what we consider acceptable and we use that as a tool to encourage students to attend their classes, but we still do not have the ability to force students to attend the hours that we schedule for them.  If a student chooses to not attend the hours they are scheduled for,they will end ** in a situation where they accrue the entire tuition cost even if they failed to attend the hours needed for completion.  Regarding your assertions about the quality of the program and the steps you say Triniti took to resolve them, we wish Triniti had followed our complaint resolution procedure further, if she felt she was not receiving an acceptable response from *****.  You can find an excerpt from that policy here:

      Step 1 Speak to the staff or faculty member who you feel has the ability to immediately resolve your concern.  Share your concerns and reasons for why you feel a correction of some order is necessary.  If this effort is not successful or appropriate, please go to Step 2;

      Step 2 Contact the campus director ************** and ask for their assistance in resolving your concern.  If this effort does not produce a satisfactory resolution to your concern, please contact MTIs president ************** and/or go to Step 3;

      Step 3 Complete a Grievance Hearing Request.  This easy-to-complete form is available from the deans offices or may be downloaded below. Please return the completed form to the campus director or president.  Once your request is received, you will be contacted within 48 hours to schedule a hearing.

      Since you say Triniti has already completed the program, it is beyond our ability to go back and address any concerns she may have had during her program.

      Lastly, you have a concern about Triniti being able to pass her board examination.  It is our goal to help any student achieve a passing score on this exam, and so far 100% of students that have taken it this year have passed.  If you feel that Triniti is not prepared to take the exam, we will happily welcome her to come in and sit in on theory classes,and we can provide practice exams, and/or some other forms of tutoring based on her needs for her to feel confident about the exam.  This would be at no cost to you or Triniti.  Please let us know if she would like to take advantage of that.

      Sincerely,
      MTI College
