The business sold me a solar system that hasnt been delivered. During the sales process, I was informed that I would not need a new electrical panel (which costs about $5k). Once they started doing the planning, I was told that I would in fact need a new electrical panel and they also told me I would need more panels, so the price tag started to skyrocket.I was told by the sales rep that my contract was null and void because they mis-scoped the project. I asked them for my $1000 deposit back. They said they wouldnt refund me because they had started the project, even though the contract (per what their sales rep **** told me) was null and void due to having to rescope.I am seeking my $1000 deposit back.

      Submitted by email 4/5/23:

      Good morning, BBB representatives.

Please accept this response to subject complaint as described below.  We came to a reasonable resolution with this customer, going above and beyond to satisfy his request by refunding his deposit and delivering a beautiful bottle of wine.  As the customer requested, we refunded the deposit paid and delivered a cancelled contract, adding the deliverables from his project (plansets for a solar system - partial value of the refunded deposit), in the event that he decides to move forward with renewable energy.  We would like to encourage his involvement with clean energy, despite the loss our company incurred with this learning experience.  We gladly welcome him to come back to Solectric if he decides to pursue a solar system.

Our rapidly developing company is in the process of training new sales representatives and operations staff.  The feedback has been taken back to management to develop the new members to Solectric as we develop our sales and amendment processes.  It can occur that a customer's current electrical layout cannot accommodate the solar system they purchased.  We are refining our processes to create that amendment when needed to meet the community's solar needs with renewable energy.
