In January of 2021 I enrolled and started at UEI college in Sacramento. While filling out registration and grants, I seen a display case t Displaying the tools we would receive upon graduation. Three of the staff members confirmed that those were the tools I would be receiving upon graduation. The tools were name brand quality tools. I was very excited & eager to begin. I achieved Honor roll All 9 months, graduated only to receive a set of tools that were far from the quality shown in the display case. I was very disappointed & upset to receive low budget quality.I contacted the president and CEO and received a phone call from their director stating it was just an error, they were purchased just for show cleaning the people at that location had no idea what tools the students would actually receive.Personally, how can an established business since **** not no what to put in a display case when opening a new school. I think that the tools in the display case were part of a bait and switch scam to falsely lure people into thinking they were going to get quality tools to begin a new career with. If I would have known that in the beginning I would have thought twice about even enrolling. As an automotive technician you need at least some type of scan tool to be able to diagnose what's wrong or to read the codes in a vehicle. The director stated an OBDll Is around $5,000. No, it's not. There wasn't even a multimeter, nothing along that line to assist in diagnosing a vehicle's issue which is something that we were taught when I first started to hook up the OBDll reader and see what codes show. This was very misleading and very disappointing. I'm sure that there are standards and procedures in setting up an establishment such as a school to help people get educated and obtain a new career. Expenses are approved by somebody. Somebody knew what was bought. And I'm sure somebody knew that those were not the right tools students would receive upon graduation.
