The mechanic (called ***) claimed that he performed a complete front brake service at his shop I figured out in less than a week that the break problem still exists with very little improvement. I went back to the repair shop to tell him that something was wrong and eighter the parts were of very bad quality, or the work was not done correctly. He refused to double check his work and gave me false justification. After two or three weeks, I returned to him because the front wheels started squeaking. He refused to check the break and repeated the same false and unreasonable justifications. Last Friday, June 14, 2024, I went back to the shop to tell him that the problem is getting worse, and I started to smell something burning down there. First, he refused to check the work and asked for diagnostic fees if I want him to inspect his work. When I told him that I prefer to take my car to another honest mechanic and pay for him to fix your improper work, he finally asked me to bring the car next day to check his brake work (after almost 7 months!). I dropped the car on Friday 06/14/2024 at 3:00 pm and after 30 minutes, I went to the mechanic to pick up my car. The mechanic (***) told me that he inspected everything, and his work is perfect, and the problem is because of the same verifications he used to mention before (rear brake, overheat, ...etc.) and he advised to start over (after paying again). Because I was watching my car all the 30 minutes and I saw him just moved it from the front yard of the shop to the back yard where he just used a small flashlight to check the wheel from the outside, and never brought it into the repair shop or removed the wheels to inspect the brakes from the inside! He needs to stop his improper services, improper customer services, fraudulent and unethical practices. I had this brake functioning perfectly for 7 years and my other car's one for 10 years. (his BAR number is ARD296310, Org. Est number is ****** & EPA number is CAL000450694).

4/24/23 I was told by *** a 30% restocking fee was required. I asked for validation that the parts were ordered. *** refused. There was discrepancy and disagreement between ***, myself and spouse, on repairs discussed; specifically the means of any authorization, itemized work, storage and stocking fees. Original 4/22 @0930 order in person was for smog $50,later @10AM by phone additional $180 engine light, later @11AM by phone additional $300 for diagnostics of gas smell, advised work gas leak first, don't address engine lights for smog until after gas. ***: "guess you're looking at $2000 parts, maybe $2000 for labor...". My spouse asked for itemized costs/estimate. *** said he would work on it. Later @2PM in person spouse was told @$4800, again asked for itemization, left to discuss with me (I was now not present). Decision was to not proceed, called but shop was closed.Called again 4/24 @8AM was told $2800 with 30% restocking fee. We were told options: pay the restock fees and labor to put the car back together, or do the repair. I asked for validation of the restocking fees to cure my concern of being overcharged and held hostage. Once I asked for validation *** became aggravated and his response and behavior suggested the parts may not be on order yet. I intended to pay the fees and labor with validation of parts order. *** said the car was taken apart and waiting on parts arriving that day and following day. I could not confirm any of this. The debating was extensive, we asked out of good faith for proof the parts were ordered. I felt helpless, as if my car was held hostage and I had no ability to ask for clarity (on the restocking fees, on anything). After mentioning BAR and rights to receipt copies and there was not a proper auth for work, and again our request out of good faith to validate parts ordered, *** "waived" the restock fees but then applies storage fee threat and questionable labor fees.Paid $1377.70 on 4/26 for car, no smog, no repairs.
