This salon charges a higher rate depending on the level of the colorist. I requested and initially received a Colorist Master Level 1, paying a higher rate for her services. However, a bait-and-switch occurred after this colorist put the foils in as I received a student-associate to complete the remainder of the process. The master colorist did not even come back to check the foils a final time - as she was working with two other clients at that point - before the student rinsed out the color then put more lightener/color in while at the bowl, resulting in my hair being much lighter then requested (note: the student was not present at the start of the appointment when I discussed the color I wanted and showed my desired hair color from my own prior coloring). Further, this error occurred even though I had colored my hair at this salon before by a Master Level colorist who completed the entire service and my formula was allegedly on file. I noted my complaint to my master levelcolorist - stating that I specifically requested a master level stylist - to which she replied that the salon regularly uses student. I remarked that this did NOT occur during my prior service, with the colorist stating it was because my previous appointment was at the end of the day, when no students are present. I REACHED OUT TO THE SALON MANAGER TWICE via email about my concerns and DID NOT RECEIVE A RESPONSE.THE SCAM: I paid for a master stylist and got a student-associate for more than half of the service, and for the more critical aspects of the service (i.e., determining when to remove the color, adding more color, selecting and applying toner). As such, the level of the stylist for the service booked and received was misrepresented AND I was charged for services with a master stylist but received a student-associate. I left with a hair color I did not request and was overcharged for a master level colorist when I actually received a student-associate.
