My boyfriend and I were looking to book a Hot Tub Cruise for our birthdays in mid-June and were hoping to use Groupon to utilize its online deal. After a couple of weeks of thought, we went to book one morning (April 24) just to find that the Groupon deal had suddenly been taken down, marked as "no longer available." My boyfriend messaged the Hot Tub Cruisin phone number and asked a brief message as to why the deal had been taken down, and if it would be reinstated soon so we could book for our planned date in June. ************************* (Operations Manager for Hot Tub Cruisin) responded shortly after, stating the Groupon deal was restricted til May 23 anyway and unable to be used after that date. From what I could see, this was not stated on the Groupon website. I was confused and even upset, considering we were planning to purchase the deal, and if Groupon hadn't been inactive the moment we were planning to buy it, we would have purchased it for no reason.This is in direct violation of the Groupon policies on misrepresentation and manipulation. Ive been in contact with Groupon which has confirmed that the date restriction wasn't accessible nor made clear. As stated in Groupon's policy, "any disclaimers attached to your product listing must be prominent and visible." Additionally, as ****** so thoroughly explained over the phone, if we had gone ahead and purchased the Groupon deal she wouldve made sure we werent refunded for the money spent which is yet another violation of Groupons policies. I attempted to contact the business owners at the Admin email listed on their website regarding my experience. Unsurprisingly, I received an email response by ****** herself. In this email she attempts to discredit me, and also admits to having recorded our phone conversation- which is illegal in ********** considering I didnt consent nor was I made aware I was being recorded. Hot Tub Cruisin also has several allegations regarding fraudulent charges and potential scams.
