Cutwater recently had a promotion at Total Wine. The promotion said "Get a $3 rebate when you buy a pack of Cutwater". I purchased 2 packs, went online, submitted my receipts and did the process. I assumed a rebate was going to be issued as check. It turned out to be an online hassle and I was only given a $3 Mastercard instead of $6. I complained, and was give another $3 card. The issue is, each rebate is a virtual $3 Mastercard that I CANNOT USE ANYWHERE ONLINE BECAUSE NOTHING COSTS LESS THAN $3 ONLINE. They know that online merchants do not allow purchases in more than one transaction. I complained to the MyBeerRate issuer and they said there is nothing they can do. They will not issue a check. They offered to send me a plastic card but that would cost $3 - the value of the rebate. This is worse than false advertisement. The promotion was a total scam! It is purposely set up so that customers cannot use their rebates anywhere. The "rebate" will expire in 6months, most likely going right back to them. None of this was disclosed on the flyer. Shame on Cutwater. I would have never made my purchase had I known I would end up an actual rebate. A rebate by definition is not a card that cannot be used anywhere.
