I took an "in-kind" distribution from iTrustCapital. Their form clearly states that an amount to be withheld for tax purposes must be specified. 4% in **************, and at least 10% for Federal. It did not specify that this only applies to **** currency withdrawals. Two weeks later, after I reach out again, I find that there is an error. They need the form back without the tax specified. I had asked in emails repeatedly how the cost basis for taxes would be calculated, and not once did I get a response. It wasn't until they were pulling the trigger that they told me they calculated it based on the last form submission, which happened to be TOP of the market. By this point, my tax basis is $2,250 more! Please get your act together and read your own forms before claiming that its the "clients responsibility".
