Mission Bay RV Resort says in their rules that quiet time is 10:00pm-8:00am. The resort is inhabited by many fulltime residents that stay for 89 days then vacate for 24 hours to the public parking lot only to return to their same space in the resort for another 89 days. Many of these people work fulltime jobs and have lived in the resort for many months and some for years. We were placed in space 24 initially and every morning at 4:30am a fellow living in space 66 right across from us would start up his loud old truck and let it run for ***** minutes waking us to the point we could not go back to sleep. We visited the ranger station to complain and they told us to go to the reservations office and tell them as there was nothing they could do. We then complained to a gentleman working in the office. He told us there wasn't a guy registered in space 66. We let him know the neighbors told us his name was ***** and he'd been staying there as long as they could remember and that he goes to his job every day at 4:30. We asked him if we could be moved as we weren't getting enough sleep here and he told us there are no other spaces available. When we returned the next afternoon the guy we complained about pointed at us and said loudly in front of the other guests, "those are the people that complained about me and said I was racing my truck around at 3:30am"! We were shocked that management told him we complained and asked to be moved so it made it even more uncomfortable for us as we felt threatened at this point. We returned to the office and spoke to a woman behind the counter. We brought a list of spaces that we found were vacant for the time we were there. She was a little more sympathetic and moved us to a spot on the other side. That's when we realized thhere were many fulltime residents living there permanently and coming and going at all hours in noisy trucks. The rules also say no pit bulls but we ran into many that were staying there so we feared for our little dog on many occasions there. The fulltime residents take up all the laundry facilities so we have to wait to wash our clothes. We think this resort has been turned into a glorified homeless camp and doesn't enforce the rules. We expected to sleep in to a normal time as we are retired seniors and we were denied that due to a lack of rule enforcement by resort staff. We also feel the resort is misrepresented and should be renamed Mission Bay RV Park not Resort. Almost everyday I had to cut my sightseeing and shopping short to go back to the rv to nap I was so tired from all the noise we decided to leave 2 days early. We feel we didn't really get what we paid for.
