I have been working with this company to resolve an issue with my last land lord. I paid for the service and spoke with a lawyer, *********************, who was working on the case. She had stopped answering my emails and phone calls and I have been told that she is no longer working as she is sick. I was then told my case would be transferred to a different law firm which is wasn't.The last email from then was in March which stated: "Hello, We regret to inform you that Attorney ********************* is currently hospitalized and will not be returning to work in the near future. The Tenants Legal Center of San Diego team is currently partnering with the State Bar of California to reassign **************** cases. We thank you for your understanding and we will update you on this matter as soon as possible."This has not happened ***************************** and/or *******************************

On 12/20/22 I had a paid consultation call with Attorney ********************* of Tenants Legal Center, which included a letter to my landlord who had issued a 60-day notice ending my ************ prematurely on January 31. I had experienced several incidents of harassment in the past with the landlord. **************** assistant assured me while scheduling the consultation that it included a letter, and **************** stated that several times during our call. She was also very confident and convincing, spewing codes and assuring me I had a strong case. She was going to get the draft to me the week of January 2. That was the last time I spoke to or heard from her, in spite of what ended up being several calls and emails attempting to notify her of additional activity and legal notices Id received from the landlord. I received a return call from her assistant after one of my calls. He agreed things were ramping up and assured me shed be in touch soon. She was not. I called again days later and he asked, Whats up? I had to regurgitate my case and that Id been waiting for their response. On January 25 I finally got their draft letter, with erroneous information and no recipient information she had never asked for the landlords info. I wrote back and asked about the unrelated/false information in the letter. Heard nothing back and just got another note from her assistant asking me to approve the same letter (still containing the erroneous information). She and her office are inept, unprofessional, and seems to be in the business of addressing her clients very serious issues in a very cavalier manner - not to mention wasting valuable time. I was forced to obtain alternate representation. Happy to provide any additional information. Thank you.

Two retainers have been paid. The first one covered a "demand letter". The firm was very fast to assign an attorney, collect the money for the retainer, and schedule a consultation phone call. On that phone call, we were promised a deliverable which was the demand letter by the end of next day, Instead, over two passed with no deliverable. It wasn't until I followed up sending an email to multiple people within the firm asking if our attorney was okay since we hadn't heard anything. We finally got the demand letter. The second retainer was paid and the firm was to continue pursuit on our issue. We've haven't received a single update since then. The attorney, *********************, has twice scheduled a meeting and then was a "no show". This is totally unacceptable. We have a huge case against a former landlord and we're getting no help at all even though we've paid for help.

They have pretty much just taken my money and not provided me with a service.I was told at the beginning on the process that there would be a $200 consultation fee and if I decided to move forward an additional $400 for a retainer.I was happy at this stage and asked to move forward. After weeks of not getting the bill for the retainer I finally got hold of someone ( a constant issue) only to find out that I was not in the system. I was then asked to pay $600 even though i had paid $200 already .Eventually we got this sorted and I was told not to worry and this issue was now their issue to solve, I had to constantly chase for updates. My landlord hasn't heard from them even though I was told they called twice (that's it for $600?)At this stage it's been 10 days since I emailed and have still to receive a reply.I have not had a single reply from ********************* who is meant to be my attorney.I have had more stress chasing after this company the. If I had done everything myself. In face I have do e everything myself AND I have has to constantly chase after these people. I am $600 poorer with NOTHING to show for it.

I reached out to the legal center for rights on my security deposit. On September 14 I paid $197 for a phone consultation in which she said I have rights to take my landlord to court. She was going to write up a letter stating all the civil codes he broke, and send it to me within the week. I havent received any documentation. After many attempts of calls and detailed voicemails, I received a generic call back on the 30th of September . I havent heard back from them. I found the contact information on the San Diego housing commission website I originally thought I was speaking to the city so I felt comfortable giving my money for legal assistance. Upon realizing I was not getting counseling, I googled them to find this is a scam theyve done many times before.
