On 4/5/2024, I drove my 2010 VW GTI to ******************** for a routine oil change. The car was running perfectly. The shop suposedly over filled the oil, redrained, and filled again. The car would not start. They refused to tow my car to someone that could diagnose the issue and refused to find me a loaner vehicle. I had to send for a tow truck myself.Business response

To Whom It May ***************** am writing in response to the complaint filed by ********************* regarding the service performed on his 2012 ********** GTI at our Valvoline Instant Oil Change location on April 5, 2024.
Service Details and ******************************** (April 5, 2024):
- ************** visited our facility for a routine oil change. The vehicle's mileage at the time was approximately ******* miles.
- During the oil change, it was noted that the oil was slightly overfilled by about half a quart.
- Recognizing the overfill, our technicians redrained and refilled the oil to the correct level as the service was completed propery. Despite this corrective action, the vehicle did not start after the service.
Further Action Taken:
- As the vehicle still did not start, we advised ************** to take his car to a mechanic for a detailed diagnostic. ************** arranged for his vehicle to be towed to a repair shop.
Diagnostic Outcome:
- The mechanics diagnostic revealed no compression in cylinder 3, which is unrelated to the oil change service performed by our technicians.
- It is important to note that an oil change does not affect engine compression in individual cylinders. The lack of compression in cylinder 3 is a separate mechanical issue not caused by the oil service.

- ************** filed a complaint with the ****** of ********** Repair (***).
- Following an investigation, the *** closed the complaint, confirming no wrongdoing on our part regarding the service provided.
Conclusion
Given the above circumstances and findings, we respectfully deny responsibility for the engine issue ************** experienced, as the no compression in cylinder 3 is unrelated to the oil change service performed by Valvoline Instant Oil Change.
