My vehicle is a 2011 ******* Sonata. I use the Getaround platform to rent my vehicle out to customers who need a rental car. 3 weeks ago my car was rented out to Getaround customer who was involved in an accident. I submitted the claim through Getarounds app and took it to a body shop upon their request. On Mondat June 24th the body shop gave an appraisal for the damage and submitted it to Getaround. Getaround has not responded to the bodyshops request to proceed with repairs. They are unable to reach anyone from Getaround including the Appraiser. The same hold true for me. They do not have a phone number for customer service anymore so everything is done through email. The provided a phone number and email address for their appraiser but neither are valid and there's been no communication with them. Meanwhile, Getaround sent me an email telling me i need to release my vehicle to a salvage yard and that they will not be paying storage fees at the bodyshop after 6-27-24. Then they told me my car is a total loss. They have not given me a valuation of the vehicle nor have they asked for documents or receipts related to recent work i had done on the vehicle. My vehicle has a new engine with only 10k miles on it, so surely the receipts I have for this will effect the valuation of my vehicle. Getaround's actions have hurt my business and my personal life, as this is also a vehicle i use to commute to work in. They are showing no regard for either me or the .autobody shop holding my vehicle. I feel like Getaround is trying manipulate me into releasing my vehicle to the salvage yard before they have even spoken to me about what their valuation is on my car. When I email Getaround asking for answers, all they do is tell me to contact the appraiser. Again, the phone number and email they provided for the appraiser are both invalid and do not work. I believe this company is a fraud and they are trying to pull an insurance scam on me. Please help me !
