My family lost my grandparent and parents in just 20 days, which has left me emotionally unstable. My number one priority right now is to make sure that I have prepared the house for reconstruction and rental purposes. To start this process, I have been looking for bids from contractors who came by the property. Recently, I had a conversation with a Builder Zoom representative who gave me an overview of their services.I made an irrational decision to sign the contract and paid $875 without being in the right state of mind. Its a mental struggle for me as we speak. I wrongly believed that there was a period of between 24 to *************************************************************************** that there were some things that I should have read carefully before signing the contract. I assumed all businesses allow cancellation within that time frame only. However, when I called after just ********************************************************** they do not refund any funds and I did not have an opportunity to exit this agreement.Under such circumstances, I felt compelled to put Suicide and Crisis Lifeline (988) on speed dial to get assistance immediately at any moment neededInitial Complaint

***** Zoom, has inaccurate information about my company on the review website as well listing my company name or place of operations incorrectly. My license is displayed as non-verified which is registered with the state just not with their service which invalidates my business. Not to mention the give a 0 out of 50 rating in the state compared to other contractors. This is only because I have elected to not subscribe to their services of ***** Zoom taking a percentage of leads if and when they come to fruition. This is extortion to utilize their service with a recommendation of " you might want to think twice before hiring this (my) company", this is slanderous manipulation and I will be sharing with my attorney if not taken down. Let me get this straight if I don't use your services, you will convey to the public that they shouldn't hire my company?Initial Complaint

Builder Zoom represented their referral services are free to the homeowner. I inquired and was ensured the referral fee would not be charged to my project by their service providers. Representative stated the service provider signs an agreement they can't charge the homeowner the Builder Zoom fee. After spending a lot of time interviewing and selecting a builder they referred, I learned the builder (Builder Zoom provider) did NOT sign an agreement to not charge the homeowner their fee. The representative further mislead me by sending an email that she would speak to the provider and they in fact signed an agreement stating that the Homeowner would not be charged a fee. Two builders sent their contracts and I reviewed Builder Zoom terms on the website. NO where does it state the homeowner may not be charged the Builder Zoom fees by the service provider. This is a bait and switch!!! They are misleading and lying to people to try to get a commission on projects. The fees are high. 2.7 of the value of a home. That can be 10's of thousands of dollars. This needs to be stopped.Business response

Hello,
The referral agreements you attached were from 2018. Our newest agreements feature a clause explicitly stating "Service Provider will not (a) directly or indirectly **** the Referral Fee to the Project Owner, or (b) transfer or refer the Project or Service Request to another service provider or otherwise disclose the existence of or any information about the Project or Service Request to any third party." It is our goal to ensure that all contractors have signed the most up to date agreement prior to signing a contract with a client on our platform.
