Academy of Art University is a nightmare to deal with. When speaking with the admissions counselor and financial aid rep I was assured my GI Bill would cover the full tuition. Three weeks into my first semester I was informed my GI Bill wouldnt even cover the second semester for the year, and that I would have to attend summer sessions to graduate in 4 years, or attend a fifth year and those were not covered by my GI Bill, leaving me to have to pay nearly $40,000 out of pocket that is not disclosed in any paperwork or on their website. After filling out the withdrawal paperwork from the school, AAU did not let me know for two weeks that my withdrawal was completed, and only after I repeatedly asked. They also refused to provide me with any paperwork. Then I had to ask for 6 months for the balance I owed and for that to be mailed to me so I had it in writing. They never followed through and then sent my balance to collections.

I think this school is suspicious. Enrolling into this school is a headache. Their financial aid sounds like a scam. I think Academy of arts university should be investigated and closed for stealing peoples money and leaving students in debt.

I advise my daughter to not go to that school. Now we're in debt and there's no degree. Just a waste of time and money.

AAU has once again lied to me (they do it all the time! This time, filing a complaint against me a MONTH after I withdrew from AAU and stopped talking to them!!! I never used profanity, even while I was attending AAU. They are just trying to s**** over my education, after all the money I gave them!!. They lied to me to get me over to AAU, saying all your professors had real world experience, but only one of them dose.They are more than 2 generations outdated!! Hidicky was having us watch pre AUTO CAD drafting videos. Today designers use VR, Of course, they know that, it's all part of their"planned obsolescence" where students have to continue taking classes to be reliant today. Speaking of, I was unfairly failed for using VR by Hidicky is why I withdrew to begin with. I tried multiple times, asking him were I could file a complaint against him. He never replied only saying "i wouldn't do that if I were you" then he did it to me a month AFTER I stopped going to AAU! They will stop responding to your emails & give you the run around on transferring credits and portfolio reviews, like me;it took them a semester and a half only to find out they added a bunch of years to my education teaching out dated info. I could go on and on; point is, this school is trash!!!
