In November 2022, I had a **** Drive EV Charger installed with my ** system. I was interested in a feature that allows an electric vehicle to be charged on only excess solar energy from the ** system. My ** system installer said that the **** Drive EV charger will be releasing this feature soon (this was prior to the installation and influenced my decision to go with a **** Drive charger). The feature was call "Charge on Sunshine" and was advertised on the **** Drive website as "Coming Soon" (until recently taken off a few weeks ago). Over the course of about 2 years, I made multiple contacts with **** about the status of the "Charge on Sunshine" feature and was told it is still in progress. I reached out to my ** system installer about the frustration. They contacted **** and received the following response:-------"Hi ***,After speaking with numerous representatives at **** about the "charge on solar" feature, I have been rebuffed and have no helpful resolution on this feature. Their programmers have no timeline for the feature, and their marketing team has stricken the mention of this feature from their description entirely. There is nothing to report concerning it development.If your dissatisfaction is such that you want to remove the unit and replace it with another brand, then Solarponics could do this project for a discounted investment of $1,850. It would be your decision to keep the current unit or have us dispose of it. This replacement EV charger would be the brand new Wall Box EV Charger, a level II, wifi enabled unit. This product does have a "charge on solar" feature available for an additional $600 investment."-------I purchased the **** Drive EV charger with the expectation the "Charge on Sunshine" would be released at some point. It is clear they intend not to continue with this feature and I would like compensation for having to replace the **** charger with an EV charger that will meet my original needs.Customer response
