Would not recommend to anyone! MADE changed our contract mid project because they were "letting go of their contractor license" and changing procedures. Therefore they owed us thousands of dollars that we were now responsible for paying the contractor. Had to wait months and months for money back, while in the meantime we had to pay the contractor. We only received the refund once I threatened small claims court, after having similar experience to other reviews here- being ghosted, being told we're 'next in line', being bounced from one representative to another. The contractor said he's heard the same nightmare stories with other clients working with MADE. I was lured in by the promise of the service helping ease the stress of a renovation with project management help. Instead it was the biggest headache (and we've done several other projects and worked with renovations in the past that was a breeze comparatively). I wish we just hired a contractor on our own. Based on our experience I concur with the criticism of shoddy business practices, poor accounting, frequent lack of communication (were not answering our phones now), staff turnover and lack of continuity and internal coordination, terrible procurement operations, complete lack of customer orientation or self awareness much less a much deserved apology, I will add that the contractor they assigned did a fine job, completing work even when they werent getting paid, and returning to fix problems at no cost, their designer, too, was helpful, within the constraints of their inventory of suppliers. But the business up to and including the owner who responded rudely when challenged is a failure. Nice concept, terrible execution.Review from Michael C

Refused to finish the project which had gone on for 1 year. Stated they were going to end the contract and then hit ** with a bill for over $4,000. Nearly impossible to speak with - emails, phone calls went to general voice mail with no return calls, never gave out a direct number to call. Terrible workmanship with project management job left to me. Only when trying to collect on their bill did they agree to meet. Terrible and dishonest company - avoid altogether. They deserve 0 stars!Review from david M

Absolutely horrendously run company. Dishonest. Disinterested. Dismissive. They take your money and then shut you out of communication. They hire substandard contractors, cut corners without telling you and disappear. Relieved theyre going out of ***************.Review from Micki H

From reading through many of these - our experience was not the worst. Agree that the zero response, constant turnover of project managers, and lack of transparency/ details on costs is unacceptable. We have leftover materials because of over ordering ( deliberate???) taking up space on our ************ response to requests of cost details and our offer to take these materials to their local warehouse for return/ credit. Im surprised that this company (despite the slick advertising) is still actually in business. Are they?Review from Bridget S

This company is a complete scam. They take your money and then stop responding to you. My project was supposed to take two months and it took 9 months. The materials process was a total mess, they ordered the wrong tub not once but twice, they failed to order materials at all for over a month because of the constant turnover. They cut off their phone lines so you couldnt call. I was promised a refund on the incorrect tub ordered over a month ago and was just told they have financial issues and cannot issue it in the foreseeable future. Our two-bathroom project began in November. I have not heard from Made in over two weeks and it was two weeks before the prior response. There are no personalized email addresses at Made, just Team@Made and their posted 415 number has a VM that says they are to busy to answer calls. I really saw no streamlining of the process because I was handed off the a new manager at each turn and whenever an issue was hard to solve, they passed the hard work on to us The only good news is the bathrooms are being done because they at least hooked me up with a talented local contractor. The problem will arise when I have to pay him. A portion on his funds was to come from Made; it was money I had paid them ahead of time. They keep saying my reimbursement is next in line which I recognize as a delay tactic. They also said they paid him 1K per BR at breakground which the contractor denies and, knowing the ethics of both, I believe the contractor. The best chance for me to get my money is for Made to do well and get more business but how can they with universal bad reviews.Review from Aaron S

It has been over 20 months since I started my project with Made, and over 10 months since ground was broken on my bathroom and use of it has been out of commission. I have not received any responses to my emails to either the contractor or Made in over a month. Additionally, Made was supposed to secure the creation of custom shower glass, and I was charged over five thousands dollars for that, but I have been informed that that will no longer happen, and have been promised a refund for that amount, and I have been waiting on that refund being told that I'm 'next in line, it will go out in a week or so' for over six months. The company has missed every timeline milestone by over 2x the estimate, still has not completed the project, has ghosted me, and actively owes me money that they fraudulently collected from me. This company is clearly a scam that is unable to keep its finances afloat after the closure of SVB.Review from chris b

We are in the middle of updating one bathroom and it has been since December of 2022 - August 2023. Every month Ive had a new project manager. The reason I know this is each month my previous PMs email stops working then a week later I get an email from my new PM. The new PM has no information so I have to begin again explaining the issues I am facing. I am owed refunds, specifically for shower glass as they do not ship them and have the ** source it. It has been months and no progress or even an idea of when I will be refunded. I prepaid for materials like paint as well as a mirror. No paint was sent. The mirror was returned and I sourced my own mirror, and these have also not been refunded. None of the phone numbers work. Emails to Team@maderenovation take weeks to get a response from and they lack any context or willingness to resolve any issues. 9 months of work on 1 bathroom and its no where near finished and I have no clue when my ~$3,000 in refunds will be sent back to me. Absolutely worst experience and would recommend anyone considering a bathroom remodel avoid Made Renovation.Review from Brandy K

To echo all others, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!Made filed the wrong plans with our City ************** for someone else's bathroom, under our home. Now, we have an unpermitted, unfinished, unusable bathroom and thousands of dollars in city permit fees alone wasted.I only discovered the permit issue when I learned that Made installed the wrong vanity, wrong tub, wrong toilet, wrong tile, wrong fixtures in our home...the list goes on.You might be wondering how this could happen? Well, I'm still not sure, considering I signed off on written design plans and a product purchase list.Made denies having done anything wrong. This is absurd, as everything is in writing, there are SKUs on everything, the plans are clearly for a different bathroom other than ours. But Made already has our money (they make you pay in advance). We hired an attorney to help us elevate our complaint - assign a new contractor and install the correct bathroom. Again, Made said "no". Their obvious strategy is to deny and ignore. It's very clear (look at BBB, Glassdoor, Yelp, or anywhere else online) that Made will go out of business, and it's just a matter of when. Hopefully, we can recoup some of our losses before the company folds. Thankfully, there is an arbitration clause in the contract we signed. We are very confident that we will prevail when a third party arbitrator is involved. We are in that process now, but it's a race against time before Made no longer exists.Working with a designer on Fiverr or Upwork and your local contractor is so much better. We've done that twice now for two of our other bathrooms, quite successfully, since starting with Made. Save yourself the headache and avoid Made at all costs.
