I suffered a building fire on April 2, 2023. I almost lost both of my dogs and had to carry them out of a burning building. Due to the fire, I lost my belongings, and filed a claim with Deans and Homer shortly thereafter. I was *********** $20,000 in coverage and filed a claim with receipts significantly exceeding that amount. It is now September 8, and my e-mails have continually gone unanswered. No payout has been granted for my claim and my emails are ignored. I would strongly recommend working with another insurer for tenant or other insurance. You will be left high and dry when you need insurance the most.

The claim remains open pending receipt of requested information from the insured.
The claim was reported on April 5, 2023. An independent adjuster reached out to the insured on April 5, 2023; however, the insured could not meet with the adjuster until June 1, 2023. As the adjuster could not find any damage to the insureds property, we requested the adjuster retain a hygienist to test the property for smoke and/or asbestos damage. Between the dates of June 1, 2023 and June 26, 2023, the insured disposed of some of their property and moved the remaining property to an off-site storage facility without prior notification. We attempted to obtain an inventory list and proof of ownership in June, July and August. The insured responded on August 30, 2023 advising the information had already been sent. As neither the adjuster nor we received the information, we requested that she re-send the information on September 5,2023. To date, we have not received a response from the insured. We have corresponded directly with the insured regarding the outstanding items needed to resolve the claim.

I am rejecting this response because:

All required information has been sent to required parties. The information was again attached even to the exact correspondence the business confirms it has received.

I had emailed Deans & Homer back on August 25, 2020 to cancel my policy #P82-6142625. They have been auto deducting my premiums up to April 2022.I just got off the phone with a ** @ *********************** and he claims that they are receiving my emails and that I need to contact my email provider as to why they are not receiving my emails. Which does not make sense, since I send and receive emails daily and if an email address is not valid, I do receive the "Undeliverable" reply, which I never received from Deans & Homer.Other than **'s denial of not receiving my emails, the only way they would refund would be if they received my email from August 25, 2020.

One of our *********************** team members left **************** a voice mail today. We are hoping he will return the call so we can address his complaint and come to a resolution as soon as possible.
