I have paid approx. $24,000. for an E-Commerce website that would showcase my artwork and allow customers to purchase and download my digital image, to a site that prints canvas, calendars, or other forms of printed images for display. Their advertisement said I would own the site and Satisfaction is guaranteed, but, I have lost confidence in the company because I was told it would cost approx. $14,000. after I had already invested $8000. Since then I have paid for a variety of security fees and for an LLC which I was not aware I needed because I had consulted with an accountant previously, they are still asking for more money and I have receipts for everything they have charged, but, every time I have been told the website is live and complete the opposite was true. The appearance was poor and the site looked unfinished. They have never given me a choice of Templates for the Home page although it has had four different versions. They charged for cards and stationary I didn't want. I didn't want it seen and I felt like they didn't have any experience. The last time I spoke to Design ***** they were just acknowledging some of the issues with the appearance of the site and making me identify every single error, although, most were very visible problems with the images being displayed sideways or not at all. ******************* the rep. acted broadsided by the ****** security fees at the last moments of completing the site and kept pushing for me to pay more. The website today says it does not have a copyright. I had asked for the domain code but they have only supplied me with temporary site links to the backend through my email. The price they are asking for the front-end security installation and maintenance is reasonable but these charges should not have been brought to me upfront, I feel I cannot afford to blindly throw money at the possibility of having a site. Where are my guarantees? I wanted to hire a consultant, from the BBB, I do not know how to proceed.Initial Complaint

On 7/21/2022 designs gene was paid $2500 to build our website. Proper information was delivered explaining the type of site needed and the pkg selection was chosen by design ***** stating that pkg would deliver the results we needed. July 29th They said we needed a 3 year hosting plan and it was $1300 it was agreed upon we would pay $324 on 7/29 and $325 on 8/12 with remainder in monthly payments of ,$60. On 8/29 they deducted $1300 from our bank acct. That is a total of $1624 we paid for hosting and they did not follow agreement of payment. Then the website was given a date of 8/22 for completion and it's far from complete as of 10/2. On 9/19 they said we needed to pay an additional $1500 for a specific plug I'm so the site would correctly process payments and this would be the final payment ever needed. we paid and the payment process is still not working. Then on 9/30 they advise us we need to pay another $1500 to be ada ********* after advising on 9/19 we would not have to pay any more for the site.. The original project is still unfinished. As we are going thru this stressful situation of lies, tricky and deceit we read their reviews and see many ppl had had the exact same horrifying experience with this company. They are complete scammers and they are not truthful at all. Their tactics are to hold your business up from growth and lie about their prices, they don't follow your instructions on designs of your project, then they refuse to refund your money.Initial Complaint

On December 1st, my wife, ********************* Wallrap ordered a $800 package from Designs Gene to design brochures. On the next day, she called to cancel her package (which hadn't been started) and they told her that they would let the person in charge of the refunds know and that she should get the refund within a week. Fast forward 3 weeks later, December 26th, she calls again as we still didn't receive the refund, talked to somebody who said the person in charge of the refunds was away and that he would process it upon his return early January. Fast forward January 8th, I decide to send a message myself to contact them and also left a bad review on TrustPilot which got their attention since I receive a call back within an hour from that very person who's in charge of the review who said that he would be happy to process the review within 10 days (seems very long again) but he asked me to remove the review from Trustpilot (does that sound ethically correct to you?). I replied that I'd be happy to consider changing my review ONCE I receive the refund... and I guess he decided it was not worth it to pretend to refund me after that and we're still waiting for our money. Since then, looks like they quickly tried to bury my review with probably made up positive reviews.
