Cybus Management retaliated against me, a tenant, taking a protected action (asking to resolve living issues) by raising my rent after I brought up these issues. This is illegal and I've also contacted the *********** When you bring up issues to *********************, he will try to deny their existence and then gaslight you. In my case, it was another neighbor who was hosting garage sales out of their garage, blocking the sidewalk and making a ton of noise right below my unit. His ultimate response "We cannot tell tenants what to do with their garages." whereas in the lease, section 11 is the Parking Agreement and contains "Nothing other than an automotive vehicle is to be placed in the parking space." and "Tenant and their guests may not park in, block or interfere with ease of use of any access areas, curb cut(s) or driveway(s) for parking at the Property at any time."Shortly after I pointed out the text in the lease, I received a notice of rent increase. ****** tried to make it seem routine, but none of the other neighbors who moved in at the same time I did, received a notice. I want Cybus to back off with the retaliation and recant the increase.Business response

***** accused Cybus Management of retaliating against him as a result of a complaint he made regarding a tenant having a garage out of their garage and blocking portions of the sidewalk.
***** rented his unit in February of 2021 when the rents in that area were suppressed due to Covid 19. We did not pass along rent increases to ***** nor the other tenants who started their leases in the same year for the year of 2022 due to market conditions and the still present Covid 19 issues. Since that time the rental market has stabilized and Covid 19 has calmed down. As a result, a rent increase was legal and warranted in the current market conditions. The other tenants in the building who also started their leases in the same year, will also receive increases this year on their anniversary date. ******* anniversary date is before the other tenants, hence his rent was increased before theirs.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because my neighbors in unit 5 moved in the same anniversary date as me. They did not receive a rent increase notice within 30 days of Feb 1.
Sincerely,
