Purchased a new mobile home via Pacific Homes.Manufactured by Skyline Homes. Warranty via Skyline Homes.Home has many flaws that need repair, but mainly the flooring is a major issue and the company, Skyline, is refusing to repair or replace the flooring to the standard that I paid for.Business response

We are sorry to hear that the customer is unhappy with the flooring. We are willing to inspect and fix any issues with the floor, in accordance with the limited warranty. However, the customer has declined that we do so. Since the customer wants another company to replace the floors with another material, we will offer $2320 instead of fixing the floors. A release will need to be signed in order to receive that money. Once the floors are replaced by a company other than Skyline, it will void our one-year warranty on those floors. Thank you.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:
The offer mentioned is not wholly adequate or true. I never said I wanted to have another company involved.I am hoping to resolve this issue WITH Skyline Homes ASAP before needing to hire a lawyer.To date there have been 4 service appointments for flooring repairs and not one has been able to provide a fix that is adequate. I am NOT willing to cut up the existing linoleum and add seams and additional transition strips.
I am aware that installing NEW plank flooring is considered to be an upgrade by Skyline Homes and that half of the new flooring material, less my initial investment at purchase is fair, although I would expect that skyline homes provide the installation.
When I purchased this home it was expected that adequate flooring be provided. Instead I received subpar, now dangerous flooring. Two nailheads have now split the current linoleum and protruded in a main walkway. In addition to myself, there are pets and kids also in the home, so far no one has been injured.
thank you,***********************;

Our ******************* are closed for the holidays. I will not be able to respond to this issue until January 3rd.Business response

We are sorry to hear that ********************** is not satisfied with our offer. As a compromise, and in the interest of customer service,we are willing to offer more than the cost to Skyline to replace the floor in accordance to the terms of our warranty. We will offer $3000 towards the replacement of the floor. Unfortunately, Skyline does not install and cannot accept any responsibility for products that do not come from our vendors. As stated previously, a release will need to be signed before we can process a check for the flooring.

We purchased a brand new 2022 build home from skyline homes. We have discovered many issues including exterior insulation not fully throughout the house amongst other issues that they promised to look at. They will not return my phone calls and when I finally get a hold of the corporate office I still hear nothing back as to trying to resolve our issues.Business response

We bought a new manufactured home from Mohave Homes Inc: **** ******* *** Golden ****** ******* ***** Phone Number (**** ********. The builder was Skylines Homes: 4** ** ********* ***, *** ******* California ***** Phone Number (**** *******1. This home arrived on the lot at Mohave Homes Inc--destroyed. From cracks in the walls and ceiling, broken molding, siding issues, cabinets issues, dents up by the roof line, front and back of house. then with the repairs that Mohave Homes did at the lot and on our property-- we were left with drywall mud on molding, walls, cabinets, vent covers, door knobs ect............. Touch up paint is in different colors of white, ceiling paint has different colors of white....... blinds were broken off and missing, no screen door on slider, big globs of glue by lights exterior, no screw in handle of shower--fell off, NO CATCH IN divider of shower door, DOOR CAME OFF WHILE SHOWERING AND WIPING DOOR--INCHES FROM MY TOES. Nails popping out of exterior siding and trim. Staples coming out of walls and flooring.******Just stepped on a staple that came up through the carpet***** When they laid the carpet and the padding----they did not clean up the construction debris on the floors---SO WHEN YOU WALK BAREFOOT ON THE CARPET, THERE ARE HARD, SHARP AND SQUESSY STUFF UNDER THE CARPET. The siding had cracks all over, A hole on the side just got puttyed over and painted. A cracked board on the end. There are so many cracks on the walls and ceiling-----that they said they will not fix for a year due to settling-----EMBARRASING !!!! Now I paid $234,000 or $239,000 for the house including delivery fees. Which is not a lot of money compared to our Million Dollar home in North Carolina. BUT IT SHOULD NOT MATTER THE COST OF A HOUSE!!!!!! CRAFTSMANSHIP SHOULD BE ACROSS THE BOARD!!!!!!!! My husband is a contractor, and gives the same quality of service to all his clients and their homes.***Skyline has fixed most issues, cabinets,flooring,countertops neededBusiness response

Dear Ms. ** ** *****,
Thank you for allowing Skyline the opportunity to respond to the complaint that was submitted to BBB. Our Service Department in San Jacinto has an open work order to service Ms. ********** home for some of the items she mentioned in her letter. Ms. ********** home was delivered to the Mohave Homes lot September of 2021. At that time the home was assembled on the lot and used as a lot model for display. Skyline’s warranty clearly states that all cosmetic issues must be reported in the first month. The first month would have been September – October of 2021. Therefore, we will unfortunately not be able to address all of the cosmetic issues mentioned, such as the crack in the countertop. Our records do not indicate that this crack was present upon the first set up. As a courtesy to Ms. *******l, and in the interest of customer service, we will assist with as many of her requests as we reasonably can. As always, any structural issues will be addressed.

Thank you for communicating the concerns that our customer is experiencing. We will answer here the latest questions from ***** *******l. We will arrange a service call to correct the staples in the leno. Cement board is not used on HUD code homes. This home will comply to HUD code. As we mentioned in our last response Skyline did not lay the carpet. She will need to get with the carpet installers regarding the carpet. 2) The water heater: the standard hot water heater is 40 gallons. If the water heater is getting hot water it is functioning properly.
3) Cabinets: We will inspect and repair any cabinets that fall outside of HUD code.

I am rejecting this response because:
I talked it over with ****, since the flooring will only be fixed cosmetically by Skyline, we will pass on the flooring and do it ourselves. Because if you just relay the floor, without correcting the problem ( staples coming up ) it will just keep happening, sad but true. BUT we would like the cabinets fixed: the scratches, the nicks, the discoloration, and the separation. I called Skyline about a week ago, to schedule, no one called me back. ALSO what about the ceiling of our home? Your contractors fixed large cracks on the ceiling. It needs to be textured and painted. I am embarrassed to have people over. On top of the cracks that they repaired — (Big lines on the ceiling)— there are different colors of white ceiling paint, through out our home……… If they can fix THE CABINETS AND THE CEILING, my complaint will be done. We will fix everything else ourselves. Again no one buys a house, with so much broken, & poor craftsmanship in a house, that’s why we bought new. We will never buy a Manufactured Home again.Initial Complaint

Thank you for allowing Skyline to respond to this customer. Unfortunately, we cannot find this customer in our data base. Please forward the serial number of the home so we may access the file. The serial number (also called the vin or the id number) can be found on the purchasing paperwork, the title, or the data sheet that is normally glued to the master bedroom closet wall. Thank you.
