So I was approached by an employee by the name of ***** in February of this year with the idea of looking for a full time, salaried position. However, when contacted via LinkedIn (which is a employer-employee job search platform), I assumed this role would be the key to getting myself back into the workforce with full time base pay. We set up an interview where I met with her and her manager of her division. The conversation seemed okay although I did reinstate to ***** specifically in our separate conversations that I am indeed looking for a full time position with base pay. After paying the $199 for the background check, I was told that I would need to provide a book of clients for me to reach out as time passed and perform the service as well as having to pay additional fees of fingerprinting and licensing. Now, I just stated in the beginning that I was looking for a full time role with base pay (salary). How did the lines of communication get crossed? I have no idea but once I realized how fast they were trying to get me to complete paperwork and pay before moving forward, I blocked them and filed a complaint for a refund which they denied. I called my bank about the charge and explained what happened and even the lady at the bank researched them for me to see if they were recognized by BBB and they were not. They promised I would make thousands of dollars in this role. I got my money back but these people are still using my contact information as business for them and it is upsetting my family members and myself as I have not had contact with the two individuals since February of this year. Because of this and the fact they are acting on behalf of me with my family, I want the company to destroy whatever personal information they have on me or I would like to file charges for misrepresentation, failure to disclose proper job requirements etc for LinkedIn. This is an MLM scheme, not an actual insurance job that will guarantee a role.
