I never had a contract with ******. He was a family friend who has work on our cars. My car broke down in December my Mother requested I tow my car to ****** (Backyard Customs). In the meantime I rented a car until ****** could fix my car. I figure him being a family friend I know he would work on my car when he had time. All of the contact has been through my mother. Finally in February I purchased another car because I could no longer continue to pay for a rental. ****** contacted me in April and asked me what was my plan with my car. I told ****** I still had 6 months left on the loan and he said the car is un fixable. I told ****** I would come pick up the car on one of my days off. Forward two weeks later ****** again contact my mother instead of contacting me, stating no worries about the car and something about the lender. My mother is elderly woman who doesn't get all the correct information. Two days later I received a lien in the mail, I immediately contacted ****** and he said he on the phone with his daughter and would call me back. The next day I call ****** back he said no worries it's nothing he reports to the credit bureaus. I still wasn't comfortable, I told ****** I would come pick up the vehicle tomorrow. At this point ****** start talking money. We have never discuss money because it wasn't in the picture to fix my car. He was now charging storage fees, for my car park on the street. ****** wanted $2100 for storage fees. I am confuse cause he isn't storing my car. It wasn't in garage, it was on the street park around the corner from his house. ****** strong arm $700 out of me. He refuse to return my car. Police did get involve as a civil stand by. Police officer said that they are there at least twice a week. I had to pay $700 to get my car back. Again I paid $700 for my car being park on the street around the corner from his house.
