My 2014 VW Jetta's check engine light came on and on 03/22/21, I took it to V Tec Auto Repair. ****** told me that he needs to diagnose the issue and then he will replace all 4 spark plugs. He charged me $200. The next day, the check engine light came back on. I took it back to ****** at V Tec Auto Repair and I told him that he charged me for diagnosing the problem but he ended up misdiagnosing. He told me if he changes the coil pack and replaces 4 wire sets, it should take care of the problem. I asked him if he was sure and he said he's positive. The charge for that was $260. The check engine light still came back even after doing all these things. I decided to sell the car and I gave a really good discount to the buyer because of all the issues it was having. The new owner took it to her mechanic shop, **************************, *******************************************************************************. I spoke to the new owner's mechanic, ****. He told me the problem was that everything was misdiagnosed from the beginning. He said he has a special OB2 machine that can diagnose only for Audi and VW. He said the problem was traced to the faulty camshift position sensor and he had to replace it because of all the misfiring. He let me know that replacing the spark plug and coil pack was not necessary at all. ****** was just c*** shooting at my expense. I went to see ****** after finding out about this and I told him how he misdiagnosed everything and I told him to talk to ****, but he refused to speak with him. I tried to compromise with him but he never admitted any wrongdoing. I told him how I had to discount my car because of everything and on top of that I was charged for everything. I told him I was charged $460 and still the check engine light came on. His response was that at least the new owner got new spark plugs and a coil pack, however **** told me none of that was necessary. I have all of these receipts and can show proof that I got scammed.
