On March 29, 2022, our regular cleaning crew with Molly Maids came to our house for a routine cleaning. About half an hour into our service, one of the women came downstairs to tell me she wanted to show me something. When I went upstairs, she led me into the guest bathroom and said she had been "cleaning the sink when it cracked." There was a noticeable hole in the sink and deep crack that spanned half of the sink. The crack was obvious and could not be missed. When I expressed shock, her and the other woman both told me very nonchalantly that it was okay and that they would let their supervisor know and it would be taken care of. They were so calm about the issue that I thought nothing of it, and they again reassured me before leaving the property that their supervisor would call me and it would be taken care of. I received a call to set up a time for the supervisor to visit the property, and the next day the supervisor came out. He looked at the sink and immediately began asserting for the first time that his team did not crack the sink. I told him that I had just used the sink the morning of the cleaning and it was not cracked, nor was there any water below the sink that would have otherwise leaked through the hole/crack if it had been present before the cleaning. I also told him that his team had admitted that they cracked it, but he began arguing that "it cracked while they were cleaning it, but they didn't crack it," which was completely contradictory. When I said they could have dropped something to break it, he claimed that they wouldn't lie even when I offered proof that they had damaged other minor things in the home that I never complained about. He said that he would contact our property management company because the sink had to have been defective if it broke with a cleaning, but it turns out he called our property management company to lie that the sink was already cracked at the last cleaning (something he never previously claimed).
