Freedom Debt relief was decent in negotiating most of my accounts with my creditors. They even assisted in handling legal action by creditors. In the end, Freedom Debt relief sat on my final settlement for months while collecting fees and giving me the run around about the final settlement. I ultimately took matters into my own hands and reached out to the creditor myself to resolve the final account because there was no end in sight with Freedom Debt relief. I honestly wish I would have done the negotiations myself because I would have been out from under my debt much sooner than 5 years. Beware of this company.

I was on the phone with their customer service rep the next thing I know I provide all of my personal information. I'm told that id receive a call back in 10 minutes, he provided me with his personal telephone number and i have yet to hear from them despite my calls to other agents that patched me through to his desk I presume....However, I am highly dissatisfied with this behavior from an organization with so much credibility in their history. I feel victimized....

I logged in to my account today. Let me go back, I enrolled into their program Jan. 2024. Started with 4 Debts that needed to be resolved. So I started with my deposits every month along with 3 additional deposits, after 2 months into it I increased my monthly deposit. All seemed well but then there were some things that started happening that concerned me. ( Let me say all 4 of the debts were current just high balances ) This is where I started wondering if I had made a mistake here. When I called in on sign up, I was sold basically a pig with lipstick. I was told that my credit score would go down but slowly. But what defines slowly? mine was at 700 when I enrolled and within a month it was down to 435. What a hit especially when I had worked hard to get to the 700 point. I was not told that the accounts needed to be ready for the creditor was ready to write them before any negotiations would even start. They needed that in order to start the conversation. Here is what really chapped me today was the settlement fee that I was hit with. My mistake for not reading all the very small print. But this fee is ridiculous, if I had know I would have signed up. Here it is Debt amount $8755.54, Debt reduction $3988.01, Settlement amount $3939.99. here is the kicker Settlement Fee $1982.01. WOW That is almost half of the settlement amount so actually I only saved only a little over $2000.00 instead of the $3988.01. Wanted to show everyone that the fees are something one needs to be aware of. I was not made aware of the 25% that was taken as the settlement fee. I am now 8 months into this and just finding out about the 25% fee. I was on the fence as weather to do this program or file BK. Now I wish I had filed the *** it would be all done by now and my credit would not have taken such a HUGE hit. Instead, I stayed on and now I have a year and a half until this is complete. More fees & low credit score!
