Ecuassist helped my son fill out a **** application form. The form is in Spanish. My son speaks no Spanish. He was incorrectly told by ********* to provide his, not Ecuassist e-mail on the form. An e-mail that was hacked was provided. ****** from Ecuassist was informed of this 2 times via Whatsapp messages. A concern was stated that we would miss an appointment with ********** Government because of this. ****** confirmed the change would be made. It was not. As we were concerned an appointment was sent to the bad e-mail that Ecuassist did not correct, and we did,as concerned, miss the appointment. As a result the **** was permenantly denied. We paid another attorney $2160 to fix this problem. Because it took Ecuassist about 4 months to get our *** report, it took less than 3 weeks for the 2nd attorney, we had to pay for 2 extensions or $332 plus $900 in taxi fees, $200 in notary fees and $447 to Ecuassist for a translator to meet us. He showed up late after the meeting, but we paid the fee anyway. ********* was paid in full for my sons ****, his *** report, approved **** and cedula ID. They also offer a weekly update guarantee which they did not honor. We had most calls and e-mails not returned and did not get a weekly update most of the time. The only work Ecuassist did on my sons **** was the application which they screwed up! They did not go to the approved **** meeting, the cedula meeting and were late and missed the meeting at the Embassy. We had to pay 2 times for this service and expect Ecuassist to do the right thing and provide a refund.Initial Complaint

I would like to file a complaint against a lawyer, who is a member of your organization. The firm is EcuaAssist and the lawyer is *****************************.I hired ****** in July 2021 to represent me for the purchase of a condo in **************. Due to his failure to represent me, I lost my deposit on the condo and the deal did not close. Furthermore, in March 2022, ****** promised to return all unused funds from his account to me, totaling $3,750USD. He failed to return these funds to me. He claims he sent the money but did not provide any evidence that it was sent and the money never arrived. I would like him to honour his word and return the $3,750 to me. Furthermore, I feel he did not do his job properly and I would like a full refund of all monies paid to his firm. My complaint and enclosures thereto are attached with details and exhibits as evidence.Business response

I am rejecting this response because:I provided the following amounts with regard to this transaction.
1. $5,000USD on July 5, 2021
2. $1,925USD on July 8, 2021
3. $6,400USD/$8,000CAD on July 26, 2021
TOTAL: $13,325USD
I received only a partial reimbursement in the amount of $3,100.00USD on July 6, 2022.
This is not satisfactory. I hired this lawyer to close a real estate purchase transaction. As a result of the lawyers failure to do his job, I am out of pocket the above noted amounts not to mention punitive damages that I suffered and my retirement dreams ruined. I have received only partial reimbursement, as noted above. I want all of my money back.Thank you.
