      On October 21, 2022 I attempted to use my debit card to make a purchase. It was declined. Upon contacting Account Now, I was notified that Account Now had closed. They said that they would send me the money that was on this account.After many, many phone calls I finally received a check for the full amount that was owed to me which was $3175.67 and the check was dated 01/11/23. I attempted to cash the check and was not able to. I was told to call the number on the front of the check and they clould tell me why I couldn't cash the check.I spoke to many people, each one giving me a different answer and telling me to try to cash it again. I attempted to cash this check 6 times and nothing. I have jumped through all the hoops that I'm going to jump through. It's obvious that they believe that they owe me the money or they wouldn't have issued the check to begin with. Any help or advice in this matter would greatly be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

      I am *******************************, a former cardholder of AccountNow debit card. As of 3/22 card # **************** had not been used. My account was locked because I lost my card. It took forever for them to unlock my card after many attempts to follow their security protocols. When they unlocked the account I was told I would receive another card in the mail. Two months, the card never came. I had to move to another state. I called customer service to ***** address and was asked if I had received my new card. I replied no, they locked my account again! They told me the card was sent to the wrong address (Not the address on file). Long story short. I left the account because they wouldn't let me close it. Soon after, AccountNow shut down. I am disabled and on ********* They're telling me that the bank account associated with the card # *********** is still active. They require information on the account or they're kicking me off. How is it my account is active when AccountNow is shutdown? I have not accessed it since 3/22 and cannot today. AccountNow has no tele # or contact email. I need an email from them giving full details why the account is still active and why can't I access it. I also want up to date statements from last I used the account to present month. ******************* (120571/9688)

      According to the complaint filed by ************************* states that she has been banking with AccountNow for years and that she has not made the 26 transactions on her account.  ************* indicates all she wants is her money back, and that this is the 3rd time money has disappeared from her account. ************** is requesting her $903.50 back.
      The results of AccountNows investigation are as follows: 
      AccountNow was not able to locate an account for ************************* with the information she provided.  On October 24, 2023, a member of AccountNows corporate team contacted ***************  ************** indicated she had a Chime account.  ************** was instructed to contact ***** directly for assistance.

      I had money deposited from my employer onto a card. I lost the card and tried to get a replacement but was not able to bc of identification purposes; couldn't verify my identity. The last agent I spoke with I was unable to understand as he didn't speak fluent English. But no agent would go any further with me until my identity was verified which I wasn't sure how I was to go about that.

      My Account Now account was closed Oct 2022, along with all other accounts with the company. I was unaware they would be closing my account as any mail they sent was to our physical address, not our mailing address. I went to an ATM on Oct 20th to withdraw money for bills and it said funds not available. I got online, but my account was no longer available. After several attempts I finally reached a customer service representative, and they told me the account had been closed and a check for $2,123.72 had been mailed and should receive it within 30 days. It never came. Called again to find out it was mailed to our physical address that we don't receive mail at. I asked to have a new check sent. They said they would get back to me in ***** hours, but they never called. From that point on, I was given the run around every time I called. I called on Dec 7th, Feb 13th, Mar 1st, Mar 3rd, April 10th, May 17th, May 19th, July 28th. Every time they said they needed approval to reissue a new check and that they'd be in touch within ***** hours. They confirmed that the original check was never cashed. The phone number I've been calling for almost a year to recover my money is now no longer in service.

      Overview of Complaint:

      According to the complaint, you state that your account was closed in October 2022, along with other accounts.  You indicated you were unaware of the closing of your account, as your mail was sent to your physical address not your mailing address.  You mention that you went to the *** on October 20, 2022 to withdraw funds and it said funds were not available. You spoke with customer service and were told a check would be sent to you in the amount of $2,123.72 and that you would receive it within 30 days.  You soke with customer service later to find out the check was sent to your physical address that you do not receive mail at.  You further state that you contacted AccountNow from Dec 7th to July 28th regarding your check and was told it needed approval to be sent.  You are requesting your funds to be sent to you.


      The results of AccountNows investigation are as follows: 

      The notification for the AccountNow closure was sent out June 22, 2022 and July 25, 2022, along with a GO2Bank debit card to replace the AccountNow Card and outlining the program closure dates and how to access remaining funds.  AccountNow apologizes that you did not receive that information. 

      On September 19,2023, an AccountNow supervisor attempted to contact you regarding your complaint. A detailed message was left for a return call.   Later that day you returned AccountNows call. AccountNow was unable to locate your account information. You advised the representative that you would make contact the next day with additional account information.

      Money was stolen from my account while incarcerated. Account now took way to long to investigate and gave me runaround for 6-7 months then determined they didn't owe me from there investigation and details would be provided upon request? According to their " customer service agreement" if investigation takes longer than 10 days from submission to fraud/complaint department then missing funds shall be made available to the customer for use? On top of that it's very evident my money was stolen? I was incarcerated and Account now allowed a new card to be ordered!? Account to be wiped out and never raised a red flag or anything? I'd never ordered a new card in seven years I think only once. Submitting report to Account now was done numerous times and their record and accounting practices are beyond inexcusable for any business. Straightforward Account Now owes me valuable money to me.

      According to the complaint you filed, you state that your money was stolen while you were incarcerated.  You say that AccountNow took a long time to investigate and gave you the run around of 6-7 months, then determined they did not owe you.  You indicated that according to the customer service agreement if investigation takes longer than 10 days from submission the missing funds would be available for use.  You mention that it is evident that your money was stolen, and that you were incarcerated and AccountNow allowed a new card to be ordered.  You also state that you only ordered a new card once. You are requesting the stolen money to be refunded.

      The results of AccountNows investigation are as follows: 

      Records show on June 22, 2023, the unauthorized dispute claim in the amount of $1,287.33 was resolved as not granted.  Upon review the transactions were deemed as authorized. No credits will be applied to your account. The account is closed as of April 21, 2023 due to the program closure.

      I was a loyal account now customer for years. On 01/1/2023 I had a deposit made on my account for my social security check of $345.00 which I used to pay bills. I called Account Now customer service as I normally would to check my balance & once they asked me to enter my dob/ card number or social they tell me that no card is found with that information. I talked to someone & found out for whatever reason I was locked out of my account. They told me the best way would be to go to their website and log in, which I couldnt do since they locked my account. Since I could not verify my identity that way, they told me to send in fax of my ID which I did over 12 times and each time they told me they did not receive the fax or couldnt read it clearly although I even got the copy of my ID blowed up in bigger fonts. They told me FINALLY they received my ID through fax and would be mailing my check. They told me it would take 14 business days. After I wait the 14 days and no check, I called back. Every customer service person would tell me something different. The next person told me the reason I hadnt got the check in 14 days is because it takes 30 days to be received by mail. I did not believe that but still waited to see. After another month past, I talked to someone else with Account Now customer service and they told me they were sending out a NEW check. Another 30 days later no check, they told me they sent my check to my local post office and it was returned back to them because they sent it to wrong post office. I went to my local post office asking if theyd receive the ************ told me no, a check was never sent to them with my name on it. So here I am again, months later no check. I am disabled. I have been on month 8 waiting on my disability check without any answers. I came to the BBB where I see people are having similar stories. These people are holding on to my money for NO reason and I need it back. No mail or check takes 30 days to receive

      My account closed with assurance that a refund check would be sent to the address listed by a certain date and that date has come and passed by weeks now. Where is my refund/account balance check!?!?!? I am owned a little over $2000.00. it doesnt take over a month to send a certified check via US ************** mail in *****************! I just want my money so that I never have to deal with this company ever again! Everytime I try to call there is frequently technical difficulties on their automated line options and the call hangs up! I just want my **** money so I can be done with this whole ordeal! And no, no one tried to contact me! Whats worse is after notifying that the online account would be closing after many years, they never lifted the withdrawal limits so that I could get all my money out in time. I just want my money and someone to call to let me know what the h*** is going on with me getting my refund/balance check!

      AccountNow closed all accounts without giving us proper notification to take out our money. I was given notification in January, but didn't receive a check for the funds that I had in the account, which was over $1,700 until June 7th. I took the check to the bank to deposit and the check has been returned. My bank is telling me the only way they wouldn't honor the check is if the money wasn't there for the check to be cashed. You state you were given notice in January, but did not receive a refund check. You said you received the check on June 7, 2023, but your bank informed you the check had been returned and they could not honor the check. You state you cannot afford to wait another 6 months to get your funds.    


      The results of AccountNows investigation are as follows: 

      Notification for the program closure was sent out on February 27, 2023, detailing information on how to retrieve your funds.  Records show that your funds of $1724.30 were removed from the account for processing on May 31, 2023.  The process for sending out checks started on June 2, 2023.
