I'm on ssi. My checks have been deposited into my account now for years now until recently. I just found out they were closing their business without no one at the bank or company telling me they were closing and i was never even notified by mail or email neither any phone calls. Now I recently spoke to about three different supposedly customer reps and have been given the runaround stating that my money is on the way etc. I had about ****** of remaining balance in my account which i tried to remove but my card kept getting declined or saying i had insufficient funds when clearly that was a lie they shut down my account and took my money!!! The first time they said it was issued on may 23rd and that it would arrive on or about June 2nd, June 3rd but nothing!! Then I called again to someone else telling me that it was never issued on may but now June 2nd and that they guaranteed me that it would be arriving in 7 to 10 business days or on about the 13th of june. Well it's June 19th and still NOTHING!! They are lying and full of scrap and I need my money I have unpaid bills that need to be paid and owe last months rent because of this i cannot go without paying these bills my livelihood depends on that money!!! Because of these people I'm going to wind up homeless and on the street!!! I want my money and nothing else to do with these fraudulent overseas crooks!!!Business response

The results of AccountNows investigation are as follows:
Program closure notices and details on the wound down were mailed on February 27, 2023. AccountNow apologizes if you did not receive the notice. The mail out of checks started June 2, 2023. On June 23, 2023, an AccountNow corporate team member contacted you to advise you to contact PathWard at **************, for information on the status of your check.

April 9, 2023. 8 AM. (Easter Sunday) I received a call from someone identifying herself as an employee of FIS ************************ Services), the "watchdog" of Federal Banks, and reporting that my AccountNow account had been breached. They would not divulge anything else, except that they closed the account. They would not state how much was taken, by whom, or how the theft occurred. They directed me to call the bank on Monday. On April 7, 2023, I faxed a transfer form to have my entire balance sent to CItizen Bank in ******, **. i had the account for over ********************************** misplacing a slip and without incident., until I ordered the balance transfer.. While waiting for any phone to be answered, i read the reviews entered on the AccountNow website and found that this is widespread occurrence At first I was told that i would receive a check for the balance (whatever that was) within ***** days, The next automated message said 1-2 months. The final automated message stated that a check would be sent "sometime in the future", Again no amount provided. I tried to make contact with AccountNow legal department without success; another phone number that is not answered. It seems to me that there are laws being broken here. According to the complaint, you received a call on April 9, 2023, from ******************************* informing you that your AccountNow account had been compromised. You stated that you contacted AccountNow customer service on April 7, 2023, faxed a transfer form to have your balance transferred to your ************ account. You claim that you read online that this was a widespread occurrence.You also claim you have received inconsistent timeframes for receiving your check for the remaining balance. You also indicate that no balance was available for the check you would receive. You are requesting the remaining balance amount, and that a check be sent, and maintenance fees be adjusted.
The results of AccountNows investigation are as follows:
Records show an attempt to contact you to advise you of a possible unauthorized transaction on April 9, 2023; a voicemail was left to return the call to verify the transaction. You contacted customer service on April 17, 2023, to advise that you had already received a refund from the merchant. You also requested your funds be transferred, and the representative advised you that we were not able to process the transfer. Your remaining balance on the account is $7,490.92. There were no maintenance fees charged. The last fee accessed to the account was a $9.95 monthly fee for ****** Refund checks were processed on June 2, 2023. Please allow 7 to 14 business days to receive.

I am rejecting this response because: according to their response the refunded amount was to arrive by June 16, 2023. This latest date is already past by 5 days. This is the 4th different projected date. There was no indication of diverted funds returned. How can they legally hold customer's funds for months? First the checks were to arrive 45 days after 4/19/23, Then "at some later date' The resulting stress is inexcusable. There as never any information provided about the suspicious activity. And until a check does arrive, the matter is not settled. There are thousands of people in this same boat. There should be a penalty.

I contacted the business of pathward about my check and I was told by a representative from pathward that the refund check was sent out on on the 22nd and it will be in the mail to me 7 to 10 days or a week or so but the account now representative stated to me that I had respond to my complaint when I started filing this the first time that it was processed on the second of june so someone is not telling the truth about my refund check and if I dont receive it in a week or 2 then I will need to take further action to retrieve my money from my closed account. The resolution that I believe I should have from this is another check reissued to me and send me the new check by ***** or *** overnight and not by us mail.Sincerely,

AccountNow.com has been my bank for over 20+ yrs. Notified by mail in Feb that they were closing permanently April 2023. They would no longer receive any direct deposits, do bill pay, etc & i need to withdraw any funds in my acct by that date, AND to update my email/address on acct. At this time I was still waiting for my fed/state refunds to land as well as open dispute to be investigated. To get to the point, within a few days of AN closing Balance on my account $3,200 COULD NOT BE WITHDRAWN OR TRANSFERRED AND I MUST WAIT 45 DAYS AND THEN I would be issued a check ON OR BY 6/2/23. I WAS NOTIFIED OF THIS in writing BY MAIL, email. I did attempt to contact their CS ***** in April to request transfer of $ to another account or issuance of a check sooner but was told I would have to wait the 45 days. That $ would DEF arrive to me BY 6/2. I contacted a few reputable banks who say normal processing time can be **** B days for most banks to issue any refund on a bank or account closure. STILL 2day my online acct shows its open/card active. On 5/23 shows transaction/ payee as (BATCH) _ -$3,200 balance now $0. I call ANow CS **** sev times 5/23-5/25 but my calls get disconnected AFTER I enter my Acct info saying sys error and to try back at another time. On 5/26 I finally get a CS rep who tells me that a check was mailed to me by **** on 5/23. NO tracking# & NO check# avail.? Strange. Rep said check for $3,200+ was mailed to me 5/23 & ill rec on or by 6/2. NEVER RECEIVED CHECK! I'M FURIOUS AT THIS POINT TOTALLY DISGUSTED! I call 6/2 in am & get system error 3X. At 4pm finally speak 2 a rep. I explain my mail had already came and NO CHECK! she tells me to wait till end of day anyways. I request a Sup none avail. Call again 6/4 told to allow 14 from 5/23. I am rejecting this response because as of today 6/20/2023, I STILL HAVEN'T received the check for $3200+. Ok AccountNow closed on 4/19/2023. I had an open dispute which was still being investigated. I could do nothing until they completed their investigation. but what I don't understand is, once dispute was closed should have sent a check for remaining balance to me instead of making me wait the 45 days after they're closing to then have a check mailed for remaining balance on my account. on May 23rd my account shows a transaction "batch" as debit -$3200 leaving $0 balance. I spoke to CS Rep they said my check was mailed on May 23rd and I would receive on or before June 2nd. STILL NO CHECK!called several times after 6/2 still being told to wait now they tell you that the check was mailed on June 2nd and I have to wait 10 to 14 days? it is June 20th today and it was not in my mail again.. cut the bull c*** what is going on here? there is no check number no transaction detail really no tracking info because they said it was sent **** first class.. and speaking with a rep they have no info whatsoever and just tell youto wait even if I say my mail already came today he'll tell me to wait till the end of the day are you kidding me? something's not right here.. if I call it tells me there's a technical error and my call wilnoticed there are several disputes and complaints against AccountNow on the many BBB sites for other states awa ******** affairs site and Federal banking site so how are they able to get away with this? what do I need to do to get my money this just is not fair. the funny thing is even though they said they close in April my account still shows open and my debit card as being active? somebody needs to figure this out and pay me what I am owed. how can there be no check? something isn't right here and someone needs to do something about it.. On May 29th 2023, I was told by a customer service representative that I would receive my refund of $985.32 on or before June 2nd 2023. I have called to only receive a recording that they are closed and open at 5 am pacific time which is 8 am eastern time. I have all my information correct and have received NOTHING. It was no fault of my own that there was money in the account but Airbnb refunded my money to the card that was used. Been Account Now customer for several years and had no problems that I recall? Now they have closed the doors on customers? I had funds deposited into Account Now by the Office Secretary Treasury electronically and deposits were successfully processed and somehow stolen. During this time I was incarcerated and upon my release discovered Account Now closing doors/accounts and also missing funds? I submitted "error form" and haven't received any response? Also have emailed and called the customer service daily at times and at least weekly. No progress on my complaint and inquiry has been shown by Account Now and truly I see nothing to prove any action is taking place by company? Terms and Agreements reads on the website and document that was provided to me upon joining Account Now states funding that has been stolen while under investigation will be replaced within 10 days for customer to have use of while ********************** finishes investigating....something to that nature? I would like my money to go where it was intended by me and for me. How in the world did it go from Account Now into any other hands than Mine? Especially when I am the only one whom knows the **** Also ********************** allowed the account to be completely wiped out, transaction history online is completely erased?, a new card ordered!? and I've only had 1 extra card due to old card just not working anymore from being old and non usable....No red flag was seen? I've had over 10k on the account at times and could only imagine if that was compromised like this amount was? And whether it be .1 or $1 the point is those funds are mine. I was incarcerated from October 24th 2022 - December 24th 2022. Inbetween those dates the funds were electronically deposited into Account Now also taken out by? During incarceration there is no access to the outside world especially actions that would have required my physical presents for example ordering and receiving a newly issued Account Now card? According to the complaint, you state you were incarcerated between October 24, through December 24, 2022, and during that time several electronically deposited funds were posted to the account, but unauthorized transactions were done depleting all your funds. You are requesting your funds be returned and compensation for the fact that you did not have access to your funds.

Records show there was no call to report the unauthorized transactions. On June 13, 2023, an AccountNow corporate team member called you to get clarification regarding your concern. You said you had several unauthorized transactions that depleted all your funds. You were advise you to contact customer service to review all the transactions that were not authorized, and to file a dispute. You claim you had attempted to contact AccountNow via the automated system without success, but you were able to reach GoBank customer service and a representative told you they would handle it, but you have not heard back. We attempted to walk you through the steps for the automated system, but had difficulties. You were advised that the issue would be escalated to Dispute. However, after the call ended, AccountNow attempted the automated system again and was able to get though. A return call was made to you and a detailed message was left advising you to call the customer service number below, listen to the prompts and select option 3 for the dispute.

AccountNow records show that closure notifications were sent via mail on February 27, 2023, along with a Go2Bank mailer offer. The last day for direct deposits to post to accounts was on March 28, 2023. The AccountNow closure occurred on April 19, 2023. Your account was reviewed on May 11, 2023, a direct deposit in the amount of $1133.73 was posted to your account on March 27, 2023. Records further show on March 27, 2023, you initiated a Cash App transaction to yourself in the amount of $1124.00.

I filed a police report on April 1 2023 as well as uploaded an error resolution form more than twice,the last time being on April 5 2023( copies of both documents are attached/uploaded). I've heard nothing back and now account now is closed. I provided a copy of the police report and notified as soon as I accessed my online account and seen the transaction. I explained that I still had my physical card in my possession and I hadn't allowed anyone to use it and I did not authorize any Western unions or any other such transactions. I was mislead into believing that I would be receiving my ****** dollar check from account now in **** business days from May 3rd 2023 (by May 17th). Instead after contacting account now at the number provided in their response I've been informed that I won't be receiving said check until around June 2nd 2023. This is not acceptable and I would never have agreed to settle this dispute had I known I want going to get my money for over a month later instead of 2 weeks. I'm starving to death because of this!!

Overview of Complaint:
According to the complaint you state that on March 27, 2023, and March 28, 2023, someone used your credit card number to send a ************* in the amount of $400.00. You indicated on April 1, 2023,you filed a police report and uploaded the error resolution form more than once. You mention that you have not heard back from AccountNow regarding your dispute. You further state that you still have your physical card and have not allowed anyone to use it. You are requesting your stolen funds to be returned.
The results of AccountNows investigation are as follows:
Per previous response records show that on April 5, 2023, you submitted an Error Claim Dispute Document regarding the merchant ************* in the amount of $400.00, that occurred on March 28,2023. The dispute was investigated. On May 2, 2023, the dispute was finalized. The dispute was found in your favor, and the account was credited for $400.00. You will receive a check in the amount of $404.92 which includes the remaining funds of $4.92 in the account. A check will be sent in ****
business days once approved.
AccountNow records further show that on May 16, 2023, your check request was approved. As previously stated, you will receive your check in **** business days.
On May 17, 2023, an AccountNow supervisor attempted to contact you to advise of this information. A detailed message was left for a return call.
AccountNow is sorry for any inconvenience that you may have experienced. The complainant may contact AccountNow directly at ************** with any remaining questions.

I did not receive notification that account now was closing all accounts and rejecting any direct deposits as of 3/28/23!!!!! Well my paycheck direct deposit WAS ACCEPTED on 3/29/23 NOT REJECTED, for the amount of $2283.17, per my employer, the ***********!!!!! Every time I attempted to call it would say experiencing technical difficulties!! As of 4/24/23 my employer contacted ** Treasury who verified that the check was never rejected! This has caused HUGE financial burden to me!!!! How can you steal people's money? I had that account for 18 YEARS!!Business response

Ms. ***** also states that as of April 24, 2023,she verified with her employer that her check was never rejected. Ms. ***** would like her funds and says this has been a huge financial burden.

AccountNow records show that closure notifications were sent via mail on February 27, 2023, along with a Go2Bank mailer offer. The last day for direct deposits to post to accounts was on March 28, 2023. The AccountNow closure occurred on April 19, 2023. **************** account was reviewed, and no direct deposit posted to the account in the amount of $2283.17. Ms. ***** will need to contact the remitter regarding her funds. On April 27, 2023, an AccountNow supervisor attempted to contact Ms. ***** to advise of this information. A detailed message was left for a return call.

I am rejecting this response because:Again, I never received a mailer notifying me my account would be closed! Honestly, something that important should have been posted in large red font when I logged into my account. As I stated, centralized payroll stated the funds from my check dated 3/31/23 were NEVER returned to ** Treasury! I just sent them an email requesting the transaction ID they show that my check WAS accepted on 3/29/23 by Account Now! I will call the ************ when I receive the transaction ID. Hopefully I can speak to a human being and get this resolved. $2283.17 is a LOT of money for a Sr. ******* who honestly lives pay check to pay check! Having that check floating in the air somewhere is causing me late fees on my rent, and credit card payments, just digging me a deeper hole. I have been living off peanut butter and jelly and honeynut cheerios for over a month now. That is a fact. I need my paycheck!

AccountNow apologizes Ms. ***** hasnt received the notification that the program was closing. This notification was sent out to cardholders. As stated AccountNow has not received Ms. ****** direct deposit funds.
