On 5/18/22 I paid a deposit in the amount of $1000 in person to ***** at Sofa Interiors for him to order fabric for reupholstering my sectional that I currently owned. It took 6 weeks instead of 4, with no follow up from him. I was starting to feel iffy about doing business with him, but I had spent so long deciding to use him after looking at several other businesses. He finished the work on 7/20 while I was on vacation and emailed me asking for the balance. I sent him a total of $1,000 that day, and he confirmed receipt via email. He called me on 7/22 and left a message that he'd deliver that week. Monday evening, 7/25 he called me saying he could deliver on Tuesday, 7/26 between 8am - 9:30am and that I should have a check ready for his delivery men for the balance. I asked him how much it was and he said he'd call me back and never did. I took off work on Tuesday morning, and he called me reminding me about the check. I again asked him how much the balance was, and he gave me an amount that was more than what it should be. I reminded him of the payments I had made, and he said "that didn't sound good" they don't have ***** and have great email security. I forwarded him the email exchanges, and he didn't call me back. His workers never showed up and I had to leave for work since I was already 3 hours late. I called his shop and he didn't answer, so I left a message. I cannot talk on the phone while I'm at work, and let him know that on multiple occasions. He called me that night while I was still at work and said he didn't know what ***** was but I should stop the payment, which was not possible 6 days after I sent it. I emailed him several times after this following up, since I cannot talk during the day, and wanted to have his replies in writing. He has not replied nor has he delivered my sectional. I've also just found out that he doesn't pay his vendors (his accountant in particular). Email chain attached.
