Recharge Inc provides a service for managing subscribers to a webstore, in my case Shopify. In 2024 they transitioned their fee structure from a pay-per-use transaction cost to a fixed month fee. My complaint is that this transition was completed with insufficient notice and my account was transitioned without my knowledge or consent. I discovered the new invoice amount after a few months of unwittingly paying for the service and after approaching the company for a cancellation and refund, they were unwilling to offer a full refund. My dollar amount is small, but significant for my small business that doesn't maintain large profit margins, and I can only assume that larger and more vulnerable businesses also fell for this malpractice.
