Tandem Product Design was hired on 8-15-2021 to build a fairly simple prototype. A housing that was going to be 3D printed (size of medium toaster). There were 4 phases outlined in the proposal. 1 - Preliminary ***************** Paid. 2 - Design Refinement. Lead time 2 weeks. Paid. 3 - Mechanical Engineering. Lead time 6 weeks. Paid. 4 Building prototype, testing. Lead time 8 weeks. Paid. We are looking at 16 weeks for final product. Around December 5th 2021. I was pretty flexible. I wanted the final product to be what I envisioned.Tandem is literally a 1 man show. He has connections and uses them to get work done such as electrical engineering, 3D printing and such. He does his own CAD work. December 2021 rolls around and the prototype is nowhere near the same universe completed. Forward to when this review is being written, April of 2024. Still not completed. He had excuse after excuse. To save money he gathers orders, holds on to them, and sends them out together to get a discount for giving for giving these people more than just one job.He would keep telling me he was ordering parts. Which I knew was not true. The whole prototype consists of 4 chief components, including the 3D printed housing, plus other minor parts such as wiring, tubes that you can purchase ridiculously easy. Down the line he tells me that he dealt with a head bump that took him a while to recover from. Another one was a major gas leak. All the while, he was ordering parts, still. Another excuse was that the economy after the pandemic changed. We are 2 years and 4 months in for a project that was supposed to take roughly 4 months. TWO YEARS overdue, and still no product delivered.
