This is not the first time responding to a Ziprecruiter job post that was a phishing scam. I have reported it in the past and nothing is done to remedy the situation. After applying to this post I recieved an odd notice asking if I had graduated high school. I googled the company and found they are a non industry specific "global service" in the ***********. The post says ****, **. I would not have share my private, personal information with a company in the ***********. If Ziprecruiter is running a phishing scam they must be shut down.

      Complaint: 21797518

I am rejecting this response because: After several complaints to the ziprecruiter assistance site I contacted the BBB because I accidently sent my personal info in the form of a resume to some person or company that stated they were in ****, ** when in fact they were in the ***********. Ziprecruiter provides no way to rescind the document.  Everytime I have reported these phishing attempts to Ziprecruiter they send me a link on how to keep myself safe from THEIR efforts to diseminate my personal information. Who knows what the people in the *********** are doing with my info. If this happens again it will be necessary to contact the AG's office. I hope that anyone else that is scammed on ZR also reports it to thier AG's office. They need to either stop facilitating phising schemes or shut down until they are able to secure their system.

      Sincerely,

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, I no longer respond to job listings on ZR so the response is not needed. After this complaint the app notified me of another posting. Instead of applying I looked up the company name online and it also had a different address to the one listed on ZR. At this point ZR has proven that it will do nothing but warn users that their service is dangerous and that they should protect themselves from ZipRecruter. The only way I can do that is by not using the "service". Thank you BBB for trying to help.

      Sincerely,

We posted 2 positions through ZipRecruiter for the first time in Jan/Feb 2023. We didn't receive any quality candidates within 1-2 months of using their daily plan. We went on 4/3/23 to close out the jobs and on our end, it showed that both listing were closed. We recently learned that we had been billed almost $12,000 for a posting we had closed out, and yet was still showing active in their system. I reached out them through and spoke with ****, who confirmed our activity on the account stopped on April 3, 2023. She then transferred me to **** from ********, who confirmed we logged in on April 3, 2023, to attempt archiving the job postings that were active. On his end, one of the archiving went through; the other did not go through and remained active. I explained to him that when I archived both postings on that date, it showed me no active postings and we stopped logging into their system and that we would like a full refund for this error. He confirmed he saw this activity on our account. **** stated several refund policies 1. they typically only refund within the same year 2. They could refund up to 6 months 3. They would refund $525 of 22 postings, totaling $11,550. I agreed and restated the $11,500 would be refunded and he confirmed it would be. **** then called back and said he could only do 6 months and that would adjust the refund to $6,825. I explained to him that he stated he would refund $525x22 postings and we want that honored. He said no and that they would only refund up to the 6 months and that he made a mistake in his calculations. I asked for this in writing and did not receive anything. It does not allow us to remove our credit card on file in the account or close out the account through their website, which continues to put us at risk to be mischarged by Zip recruiter. We are requesting the remaining refund from our charges after April 3, 2023. We would also like confirmation that our card is OFF the account, immediately.

I am rejecting this response because: There is no ongoing resolution process going on with ********** at this time as they will not do anything more regarding this.  They refunded 60 days worth of the incorrect charges but ********** only allows disputes for 60 days so these charges beyond 60 days  could not be disputed.  While we disputed the referenced charges with ********** the bank directed us to ZipRecruiter to resolve the charges  prior to 60 days which never should have been made.  The charges were made without our permission, for services that were cancelled by us and acknowledged as cancelled by ZipRecruiter.  To resolve this ZipRecruiter needs to refund the charges as outlined in our original complaint.

Ziprecruiter disputed our dispute after acknowledging prior that the false charges were in fact due to ZipRecruiters error.  Obviously their strategy is to gaslight until we go away.  We will consult our attorney to see if there is legal recourse or potential class action as we believe that this kind of overcharging may be part of ZipRecruiters business strategy.  There are other employment websites so consumers are advised to steer clear of ZipRecruiter

Out of 170 people, the company won't own up to anything and it is very suspicious. Confronted them, first I was disconnected 9 times by them. Then they would not give a credit or work with me. I am out $480 and did not even speak to a single candidate. This is BAD BUSINESS through and through. Business Ethics 101. I personally paid out of my pocket to try to find good applicants and this is what I get for sending them my business. I spent $250 with Linkedin and got 180 candidates and 60% percent responded.

ZipRecruiter is billing my company since 6/6/23. Despite multiple attempts to resolve the matter with their CS, the problem remains unresolved, and I've been unjustly charged $535.5, twice a month, for a service I've never received.Since discovering these unauthorized charges on my account, I've diligently attempted to reach out to ZipRecruiter's customer support to rectify the situation. However, despite my persistent efforts, I've received no satisfactory resolution or acknowledgment of the problem from their end. The lack of responsiveness and failure to address this matter in a timely manner is highly concerning and unacceptable.I want to emphasize that I've never signed up for or used any services provided by ZipRecruiter, making these charges entirely erroneous and unjustified. It's evident that there has been a mistake or misunderstanding on their part, and I demand a reimbursement of the $7497 that has been wrongfully deducted from my account. I am rejecting this response because I did not receive any service from ZipRecruiter. Complaint: 21323174

Thank you for your response. I must express my concern that the eight refunds provided do not fully address the situation. I initially paid $7,497 for a service that I was not fully aware of, and as a gesture of goodwill, I am willing to accept a loss of $1606.5. However, this amount is far more than my financial situation can bear. I kindly request that ZipRecruiter refund the remaining amount of $1606.

ZipRecruiter's impact on our small family business is significant, especially considering that we have been operating for less than a year. Our financial situation is delicate, and the inability to receive additional financial reimbursement is a considerable burden for us. It is disheartening to feel that companies like ZipRecruiter may not fully consider the individual circumstances of their customers, particularly when we are explaining our challenges and seeking a fair resolution.
I hope we can find a mutually beneficial solution that respects both our business needs. /

      Thank you for your understanding.

I a just an applicant, but what if this type of sensitive data ended up in the hands of a nefarious individual? This is a serious data breach, and indicative of a larger security issue.I urgently request a response and an explanation of the measures being taken to address and prevent this unsettling issue.

Subject: ****************** **** Breach and Serious Concerns
      Complaint: ********

I am compelled to reject the response provided by Zip due to its lack of coherence and failure to acknowledge the gravity of the situation. The issue at hand is a profound data breach with severe implications.
It is disconcerting that Zip failed to express concern about the potential exposure of individuals' data. I will be writing to your board and C-suite to emphasize the seriousness of this matter, as it appears Zip is unwilling to escalate it to senior leadership.

This is not just a simple error; nor is it a 'data storage' issue, it is a significant breach of data security. I have personally encountered the sensitive information of individuals such as *********************************, ***************************, and *************************** (look below). The sequential exposure of their data (cycling right in front of me on your website), along with the possibility of more if the application screen were kept open, underscores the severity of the situation. I don't think you truly appreciate how bad this breach really is. When you indicate things like 'data storage inquiries', or 'We can confirm that the resume on file matches you at this time', this tells me you have no idea what you are discussing and you absolutely need to address this data breach/leak issue with the seriousness it deserves.

I doubt these people are the sole victims of this breach, and it indicates a flaw in your website's code, among other issues. I strongly recommend a comprehensive audit by your IT department. Furthermore, involving your Legal and ********************* is imperative, as several policies and protocols have been violated.

Lastly, the statement, 'We can confirm that the resume on file matches you at this time,' is not only irrelevant, but also a serious sidestep of the core issue. It is imperative ZipRecruiter takes immediate action, contacts its IT and ****************** and addresses this matter comprehensively before more data is exposed and more people are victimized.

ZipRecruiter offered a free promotion and trial. I canceled the service within the trail period yet was billed, after the fact, for $210.00. This is deceptive, and in my opinion, fraud.

Signed up for a free post seeking applicants. I accepted a trial offer to boost exposure. Site stated I could cancel to avoid charges prior to the 30day trial period ending but required I put a payment on file. I keep my cards locked to avoid unauthorized charges unless I'm making a purchase. This was 3 weeks ago. Today I got a notification that my payment in excess of $500 didnt go thru bc my card is locked. I havent received one viable application and this site has sent me nothing but unqualified retail workers to fill a seasoned sales position. Retail sales and cashiering do not equate to sales experience. Thankfully I keep my card locked bc this service isn't worth $5 let alone $500. How does a 30day trial end on the 1st of the month? Yes, its in the fine print they bill on the first but I would expect my 30day trial to end prior to this happening. Some of the applicants don't even have resumes. This is a joke. This company needs to be sued! I will be letting my bank know any further attempts are unauthorized and I request that you purge my payment information from your system IMMEDIATELY..

      Hello ******,

Thank you for taking the time to contact us here at ZipRecruiter via the Better Business Bureau.  We would be happy to assist you with your account and provide you with clarification on our terms.

ZipRecruiter does not offer 30-day free trials.  When signing up for the service, you were advised of the 2-day free trial along with the exact expiration of the trial.  This information is provided and also listed in your account under Subscription Overview.  The plan you selected is our daily usage plan.  This means you may open and close your job as you please, and only be charged while your position is active.  If the job is not closed before the free trial expires, your account moves to a paid plan.

All users who post jobs with ZipRecruiter must agree to our Terms of Use along with their chosen job-posting plan.  Each day your job is active, you are incurring charges.  Once the incurred charges reach the $500 threshold, or you close your job, the invoice will generate and you will be billed at midnight the following day.  All you have to do to cancel your account is close out your active job.  The Sales Representative position was posted on 11/16/23 and is still currently active at this time.

We dont see that youve contacted our team directly for assistance and/or any refund requests.  Please reach out to our customer care team directly at **************.  Our dedicated team is available 24/7 for your convenience and ease.  Additionally, you have not yet been charged for the service as the invoice in question is still pending.

We hope this provides further understanding, and we wish you the very best of luck with your future hiring endeavors.

I emailed Ziprecruiter to inform them that someone is fraudulently using information from an old employment ad that we had closed over a year ago. For some reason they are still keeping this old ad visable (from approximately a year and a half ago). The people committing the fraud are exploiting job seekers using my legal company name Titan security guard services **** They have created a job posting on the Canadian job bank, to which I have now informed the government. This ad is tied to the old ziprecruiter ad to make it look legitimate. I received multiple phone calls and emails this week regarding jobs. But today when I received one of these phone calls, I followed up and asked them more details since I do not have a job posting. Anywhere outside of my own business website. The individual told me he was asked for money, and that he didnt want to have to pay again when he applied previously under a different email. When I contacted the recruiter to ask them to remove my ad, they told me this is not their problem. This is fraud using my company name and I do think they need to remove the ad immediately.

I am rejecting this response because I already contacted Zip recruiter and was told that this is not their problem. I want any ad for job postings related to Titan ***************************** (my company that I own), to be removed from Zip recruiter. I have not used Zip recruiter for over a year and a half so any ads that are published are fraudulent.

      Sincerely,

ZIPRECRUITER! -This organization has pursued my company to use them for months, with my telling them they were extremely too high priced and their format was not conducive to what I felt comfortable using. The person phoning me, ******, finally offered me a special offer for 1 month only to run 1 add. I told me I did not want recurring billing, I would try one month only and that was it. He guaranteed that he set my account (I prepaid for the month.) to shut off at the end of one month, never to be billed again unless I phoned and reset the options.I asked him 3 times if he set for one month only and again each time he guaranteed that it was. As soon as he got off the phone, he never knew who I was again, did exchange a couple of emails, but said he no longer handled my account. I guess he is ZipRecruiters best scam artist!!They took my money, I let the month complete, now they are automatically charging my credit card again for more monies than I originally spent. I AM FURIOUS FOR THIS IS A BLANTANT SCAM!!!I NEVER would have used them but this guy was so insistent, I did take the month only, now when I call I am treated like it was my fault.I want my money back, including fees incurred in my bank and for my time I have expended on their scam!!!!!!

      Complaint: 20821577

I am rejecting this response because:  ZipRecruiter knows exactly who I am - email address used for their account is my business email address: ****************************

Since this complaint > ZipRecruiter has blocked me out of the platform, consequently I cannot get in to review applicants that applied to my advertisement during the month I had prepaid for!  > Thus now costing my company possibly hundreds of thousands of $'s!! Not able to hire sales personnel. The only way I can get into the account is I have to pay $299.99  ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!

This company lied and committed fraud by taking additional monies out of my account that I did not sign up for! They say each conversation is recorded I want ALL RECORDINGS during this time I spoke with ****** when he was trying to get me to sign up in the first place. Trust me!!!  They know how to allow people access to the time frames they paid for, if not I will provide a developer that can set it up for them.

BBB > now ZipRecruiter is costing me more $ right in front of you, making a mockery of you as well, saying "Hey, we can do what we want!" It's time to stop companies poor business practices like this!!!!

ZipRecruiter took monies out of an account I keep strictly for vendor payments, only the amounts needed to pay legitimate monthly payments and they not only ******** the account the embarrassment alone is unconsionable!!!!!  They need to be forced to send account alerts 2 weeks prior to taking monies in order for people to stop it. How many companies are they doing this to who have not caught them taking money, do to the company being so large or maintaining additional monies in their accounts? e.g. **** customer x $500 = $500,000 a month that they can easily be getting without being noticed. I think BBB needs to look into this a little further.

The problem here? They could have said, Oh we're sorry, here is your money and what it cost you and we will never let it happen again plus you can access the applicants that applied to your ad for the period you prepaid for. But no, they have been getting away with it for so long, they think people will walk away. I have an email from a manager at ZipRecruiter saying, "Yes, we did this, it is our mistake." I am not asking for anything out of realm, to be made whole do to this problem, it has now become extremely costly and I want my money that this cost me, including for my time!!

      Sincerely,

      *****************
