We had a signed reservation contract for the tenting for my fathers memorial. Today, two and half weeks before the memorial service they abruptly told me that they are cancelling the reservation. I cannot believe that they would cancel when they had already done a site visit, sent the proposal and I had signed and set it back. They came for the second site visit yesterday (which I understood was part of their standard practice,to have a site visit after the contract was signed to take exact measurements) and the very net day they have cancelled. I do not know if this is because I asked if there were any ways to reduce the costs, or if the job looked more complicated and they thought they couldn't deliver fo rthe price they had quoted but I have 100+ people coming to honor my dads life on February 24th and if it rains, what are we going to do? Its February! I can't believe they are so callous and creating such incredible stress at a time of grief for our family.Business response

I am rejecting this response because:1) The vendor states that I "was very unhappy" with the price. This is not true. I simply wanted to remove things from the bid that I did not need.
2) The vendor states that they reneged on our agreement because of the "complex" install. When I asked them if we could simplify the install (for example by making the tent smaller) they declined to even discuss this with me.
Their response makes it seem pretty clear that they just decided they didn't want to do the job. I was eventually able to find another tent company that did a marvelous job installing a much simpler tent at a much better price. The vendor however did cause a huge last minute panicked scramble on my part when I was preparing for my father's memorial service. Their response is an illustration of how unprofessional they are.
