This business is working for the benefit of real estate agents wanting to make home sales and not for the protection of the home buyer who pays for the inspection. The specifics of my case are that the inspector (still the current owner of W.I.N.- Santa ****) told me he could not get under the house to inspect it because a contractor was working on expanding the # of ventilation openings as per the pest report recommendations. I found out by seeing standing water under the house the week I moved in that I had purchased a house that had leaky galvanized pipes underneath. I had to replace all the plumbing under the house immediately at a cost of several thousand dollars( in ****) . Today that would probably be $10,000. That man's license should have been revoked back then as he let the realtor tell him to claim he could not get under the house because she knew the condition of the leaking pipes. It turned out the access to under the house was not hindered by other work being done on the house. I should have put the word out about this business back then but I was busy making a living and now that I am retired and purchasing an investment property I was looking up who I will not be using for this new home inspection and thought I might share it with others who could fall victim to this business.
