In August of 2023 we began a kitchen remodel. We retained Humanity Home and Cabinetry to help with this process. Early on we discovered we needed an accurate rendering of our home with current measurements in order to obtain a permit as the house plans were not on record with the county. Humanity Home and Cabinetry let us know that they could offer this drafting service for additional fees. The drafting agreement we signed was for the Whole House Plan which included as built interior plan including the garage, exterior elevation, plot map, window and door schedule and plan. This package was priced at $4500 but we received a 25% existing client discount for a net paid of $3375. Fast forward, the company provided a quote to replace the existing doors and updated doors with a vendor they use, ******************* but we were not required to use their vendors so we sent the door schedule to our contractors vendor at Golden State Lumber and proceeded to order the doors from them as they were less expensive. When the first part of the home was ready for doors we discovered that the measurement for the fire rated garage door was incorrect and the door would not fit the opening. Because the doors are not returnable, *** reached out to the owner of Humanity Home and she agreed it was their error and shared the person who had done the draft was no longer with the company because of his errors. She agreed to pick up the door and sent us a check to reimburse us for the error. At that time we did not know it but 2 other replacement doors were measured incorrectly and when these doors were to be installed we discovered this error and again reached out. This time we were told that the drafting we paid $3375 for was for getting the permit only and that they were not responsible for the 2 additional doors. We have asked several times with no response and feel that we paid for a service and didn't receive an accurate rendering of our home. We would like to be reimbursed for the doors.
