    I have had a unfortunate experience with this company. It started well with someone coming out to measure our skylight frame and then sending us a quote. We signed a contract with them which were now unable to get out of. Shortly after I found out I could get my skylight fixed for several hundred dollars the price of merely installment for **** Smith Glass. This was frustrating to know in hindsight that we could have saved a lot of money elsewhere but we had signed a contract and I wanted to honor it. According to **** smith and my husband we received a call several weeks after signing the contract to let us know the order was a little delayed (in their words). Fast forward to 11/9. We called **** Smith inquiring when the glass would be installed? My husband was on a flight so he didnt respond right away. We received a second email urging us to call back ASAP or they would give the spot to someone else. You can see how this would be frustrating to begin with. We have only heard from them once in five weeks. We initiated this call to inquire as to what is happening and when will the skylight be completed and we are told to hurry and respond before they give the time slot to someone else. At this point Im a little frustrated but I call back and initially agree to the installment/ appointment time. But after thinking it over I called back and expressed my frustrations. I requested a copy of the contract for review related to 1) the fact that its been over five weeks since we signed the contract , 2) they had the skylight since 10/28 but we had to call to initiate the appointment/ installment 11/9, and 3) I unintentionally found someone who could purchase a skylight and install it several weeks back while saving me ****+ dollars. After sharing my frustrations and reasoning for wanting to get out of the contract I was told they would waive the installment fee which would save me hardly anything in terms of the total ****. I thought they were waiving the installment fee as an apology for lack of communication and tardiness. Come to find out they were planning to waive the fee after dropping off the product and not installing it (per the contract). Per my request they did email me a copy of the contract, which I was thankful for some follow-through on their side. I wrote another email thanking them for sending the contract. But I was very clear that my experience and wishes have not changed. I was very clear that I would like to void the contract if I will not be held liable legally. And if I will be held liable legally then I will proceed with their full service including installment. They next day I get a voicemail from another person in their office who in my opinion lacked professionalism and was rude. In her voicemail she said they have been running this company for 36 years and have lots of happy customers (besides me) and that I can either proceed with their service or they will charge my card regardless. She never once apologized in her voicemail or admitted to any wrong on their side. She accused and in my opinion threatened. She said they will charge regardless and I can take them to court if I want. This was after I sent them an email stating my wishes clearly. In the same email I said if I can not get out of the contract without being held liable legally I will continue with their full services. So I was very clear that I was unhappy but willing to honor the contract if I could be found liable legally in terms of the contract. Then to get a rude and aggressive voicemail disregarding that I said Id honor the contract if i had to was another example of poor communication from **** Smith Glass. I would not recommend this company to anyone save yourself the headache and money. Hopefully I am happy with the installment scheduled later this week, I wish I had higher hopes.
