I recently purchased my first Subaru from the Sherman Oaks Subaru dealership. I ordered the 2022 Subaru Impreza Limited and planned to pay in cash. Zen the salesmen said this was fine several times. I then get there to the financing department in "Casa Cars" or "Casa Cars Automotive Group" and they told me to get a money order instead of cash which I refused because I already had to visit the bank twice for this cash and was told it was acceptable to bring. I mean, why would cash not be acceptable anywhere? Anyways, they realized they actually had to use their hands and brains to count the money by hand even though it was counted by a money counter in the bank several times, and counted by myself several times to the exact amount they needed down to the pennies. Which is understandable, but the thing is that they counted it twice between two people and then told me I was $200.00 short, demanded me to provide that $200.00 from my wallet then or I couldn't receive my car, which I did because I needed the car and wasn't going to walk away because of $200.00. A week or so goes by and I submit my survey that Subaru sent over about my experience and I was quite nice about everything on their even though the salesmen, Zen warned me about it and wasn't suppose to apparently. The following day after this survey I received a $200.00 check in the mail from Casa Cars with the note on it saying "refund over payment." Not a letter saying they are sorry, not a call, not a text, not an email. Nothing that said they were sorry for embarrassing me by saying I was $200.00 short of $31,000.00, or a sorry for miscounting my money and not doing their job correctly. I'd be a lot less angry if a human said something to me, but nothing has been said and only a check was sent. As far as I'm concerned, the two men that counted my money in the financing department each stole $100.00 from what they counted and then their dealership realized the mistake and sent me a check.
