On August 26, 2023, I purchased a mini Goldendoodle puppy from Alaska ******* with Creamy Retrievers LLC in Shingle Springs, CA. The breeder released the puppy at 7 weeks old without approval from a licensed Vet, which is illegal in California for puppies under 8 weeks old. She assured me several times that she would take the puppy to the Vet before releasing him to me. At the time, her website also stated that “The puppies receive their first set of shots and a vet exam the week of going home.” However, she failed to take the puppy to the Vet and only disclosed this after I repeatedly asked for the Vet's contact information. After noticing issues with his vision, I took him to an Ophthalmologist who diagnosed him with optic nerve hypoplasia, a heritable congenital defect, which caused him to be completely blind at birth. The breeder claimed the puppy wasn't blind at birth and that he lost his vision while under my care. However, the Ophthalmologist said “it is ‘highly’ likely that he was born without any vision at all as this disease is not progressive and is congenital,“ which is a condition present at birth. Attempts to resolve the issue in October 2023 failed due to heated discussions. We tried again in December 2023 with mediation, and almost reached an agreement until the breeder presented a contract requiring me to remove all customer reviews and posts about my experience with her business to be reimbursed for the puppy's purchase and partial vet expenses. I couldn't agree to these terms for key reasons: 1) It posed a financial liability risk I couldn't accept. 2) There's no guarantee all online posts could be removed due to site restrictions, and I can't control who copies and shares my content. 3) It's unethical to force a customer to remove reviews to receive rightful payment. As of 2/5/2024, I have spent a total of $4,864 on caring for the puppy: Description Purchase Price of Puppy: $2,700 Vet Exams and Medical Expenses: $794 Food and Supplies: $1,370Business response

**** you are lying again. The puppy was NOT BLIND at birth I have proof of you texting me that your vet seen him the week after going him he was NOT blind. Either way the reason we have not been able to come to an agreement is only because of your lies and post about me. I offered you a full refund for the puppy but you would not return him. you’re telling people I am a fraud,a scammer and buyer beware. And I know I have been trying to work with you since day 1. It is absolutely reasonable of me the business owner to ask you to delete the lies in your post, I had no problem with your review towards me but only the part where you said buyer beware and that I was a scammer. I did let the puppy go home at seven weeks old and that was a hard lesson I learned and have never done that again. I honestly feel really bad for you. I can’t imagine the stress it’s been to make this your life’s mission to bring my business down. But truth always prevails. I have hundreds of puppies out there that are living their best lives healthy and happy families that continue to thank me through the years for giving them the best dog I have told you this many times I am very sorry that this happened to you and I have also told you many times I will take him back. But you are so unreasonable! why would I pay you for puppy food and your time?? This is the last reply you will get from me I’m sure you know by now the sheriff department throughout your case because there is no case . My advice to you is that you take that same energy to live a happy healthy life with your dog.

I am rejecting this response because: The breeder claims I am lying, but I have provided documentation that she broke many laws in selling the puppy. Furthermore, I provided documentation from a Veterinary ophthalmologist who specializes in eye care for dogs. She diagnosed the puppy as blind at birth, but the breeder refuses to believe it. The breeder refuses to take responsibility for her actions.
