      Hemphill Mortuary has handled my daughter's remains poorly. They are very unprofessional. They do not provide you with documentation for services. their communication with families is terrible. The establishment is old and dark. They are currently holding my daughters body. Violating the Funeral Rule as well as committing a crime by holding a loved ones body. This funeral home has caused me and my family emotional distress and trauma. This experience has been the worst in my entire life.

      Complaint 1.) Hemphill Mortuary handled my daughters (**********************) remains poorly.
      Response: There werent any problems or complaints from **************** or the family as of April 17, 2024,
      10:22am. They put on her fingernails. And the family was happy on leaving the mortuary. No complaints
      about the condition or appearance of the body were addressed to me at that time.

      Complaint 2a.) They are very unprofessional, they do not provide you with documents for services.
      Response: On or about April the 1st. 2024, *************** was provided with documents, which include:
      release form, authorization to embalm, Insurance disclosure, death certificate form (PI), cremation
      paperwork, and she signed all the documents.

      Complaint 2b.) They are very unprofessional, their communication with families is terrible.
      Response: My staff and I have communicated with *************** time after time, but the lack of her returning
      calls has hindered communications.
      The problem was when, it came time to finalize and pay for services that had been rendered preparing, for
      her daughters funeral service, *************** came up with many excuses. Therefore the *************** was
      canceled, due to lack of payment.
      After the funeral service was canceled (due to lack of payment.) *************** immediately requested, to have
      her daughter removed from the Hemphill Mortuary Facility. I and my staff informed her to contact another
      mortuary.

      Complaint 3.) they are currently hold my daughters body, violating the funeral rule.
      Response: I never stated to *************** that I would hold the body because of lack of payment. Ms ******************** body was released to Desert View mortuary #**** (Case I.D ******) on or about 05/14/2024
      with no problems.

      Desired settlement: To date *************** has not paid for any of the professional services that Hemphill
      Mortuary has provided.

      I belief *************** wanted to receive a free ***************.
