9/2/2023 we booked a room at svendsgaard Danish Lodge. I called them countless times. They said that the owner was out of town. Till now no apology or a call back problem has not been resolved. There was a horrible sewer smell in the room. It was so bad there was no way we could sleep or stay in that room. We went to the front desk and there was two more guest complaining about the same smell. The front desk employee said that they were booked. They will not be able to give us another room or a refund. We could not sleep in that room cause the smell was so bad. We had to drive an hour away to another hotel that same night.

We booked the room over the phone. I explained to them that we have an infant and we would need to have a first floor room. I have given birth a few months ago and going up and down stairs is very hard for me. We got to the room and they said they only had the upstairs available. We told them we need the first floor but they said they were all out. (Their elevators do not work) When we talked into the room it smelled like mold and there was black mold everywhere in the bathroom. We went downstairs and told them this was a health hazard and neither us or our infant shouldn’t be breathing this air and we would pay a prorated amount for the half hour we stayed. The red head lady at the front desk told us she couldn’t do anything and we had to email the manager and maybe we would get a response. We emailed the manager two times and no answer. We were forced to stay in the room because financially they had charged us for both nights before we even got to the hotel. We checked in on April 28th and checked out on the 30th. The rooms are a health hazard and my baby broke out into hives. The manager never responded to either of our two emails and never called or emailed us back.
