Hi -- I initially heard about Wood Fire Woodie from a friend and submitted a request on their website ********************************** on 3/1/24 for them to cater my daughter's first birthday party on 4/20/24. We exchanged emails and I sent the attached signed contract to ******************************* <******************************> via email and sent the $1,495 deposit required via venmo all on 3/1/24 (my bank confirmation and ***'s venmo details are attached as well). We emailed 2 other times before the event confirming the dates and times and *** said he was all set to cater the party. On the day of the party (4/20/24), *** called me an hour before it was supposed to start saying he mixed up the days and was at another venue in ************** and wouldn't be there at the party. Obviously this was extremely frustrating because I had 100 people at my house and no food for them so I had to last minute call a pizza delivery company! *** said he would of course refund my deposit and give me a free pizza party in the future. Since then I have called him ~10 times and sent him ~10 emails with no response. I have asked for my deposit back (I wouldn't trust him to throw me a free party) and he has ghosted me. I'm not sure what to do but I saw on his Yelp page that others have been scammed just like I have. I'd like to get my $1,495 deposit returned to me and I want to make sure others aren't scammed by him in the future. Thank you! ***********************************
