Terrible customer service. The subscription that automatically renews is NON-REFUNDABLE. Not even if you contact them within 24 hours of the charge. To review results, requires the subscription, then if it renews, too bad. This company is a scam preying on innocent people and have no respect for retaining the customers that decide to try the service.Review from Rosemary S

I wrote their customer service when I found my account locked. They told me 23andme was recently hacked and they locked all accounts. They asked me to send my government ID.I know that just about everything everywhere has been hacked. Most ask you to change your password not ask for government id. My response was:Wow, my personal, government issued id? That sounds so risky. If you guys get hacked again- what is there left for me to lose? I used to say- what, more do you need from me- my blood? But you already have my DNA - then you will have my personal information?Have you thought this through? Is there a way for me to get my information deleted now that I can't access it? I no longer want my DNA with you- it is apparently easily hacked.Review from Carolyn W

I was very disappointed with the professionalism of this company. Right from the start they claimed they never received my sample (I had to submit a copy of my postal receipt, etc.) and it only went downhill from there. Don't bother, there are plenty of other companies to choose from.Review from Nina G

I am very disappointed with this company. In December 2023, my fathers account, which I have managed since 2012, was blocked. Since he passed away, 23andme asked me for a long list of documents to prove that I could legally operate it. I provided everything they asked for and still no solution as of April 2024, I still don't have access. It takes them several weeks each time they respond. I feel like they are punishing their old loyal customer for their own mistakes regarding data security and data breaches.Review from Gerald H

I originally bought 23andme a few years back. When I purchased 23andme it was a set price. Now they are trying to charge me a yearly subscription. And they will not let me access my account. This is totally unethical. A scam company that I now regret even giving my DNA to. Buyer beware do not do it!!Review from Donna C

I think this company is a fraud. I shipped my results back on April 13,2023 and they said that they still did not receive my kit it now 5/17/23. This is the second time something happen to my kit. The first kit they said that it concentration was not high enough, so they sent a second kit replacement and now that kit has not been received. Looking at my tracking# my kit still never was delivered to the lab. Something is totally wrong because they received my first kit in 5 days. So when contacted 23andme by email, ****** said that the Post Offices handles there packages different. I stated it should not take is long very suspicious. This company needs to be investigated on their operation.Review from Marsha H

23andme company is totally c*** and a scam because they couldn't find my father's DNA results just because my father wasn't on the record. They only added my mother's DNA results and distant relatives, but they are really idiots because I didn't ask for my mother's side or didn't input about my mother. I had only input my father's brief info I only know his first name and birthdate of **** that is it. They still requested the full info. They are extremely ridiculous for not caring or nor listen. That is ******** because I tried the other two companies MyHeritage and Ancestry did my father's DNA results with the same brief info but no records. But except Ancestry will try to find a record of my father in any other ways. They refused to give me a full refund because my kit had already been used for the process. How am I supposed to know after processing the kit without DNA results unavailable!!!!! They robbed my money ****** and took advantage of me! I am so ****** and can't wait to tell and warn everyone about c*** 23andme.
