Brought classic auto, Camino **** LT in for repair of scratches and painting and the job was unacceptable. They had the car for over 5 months. Not only was the paint job bad they lost pieces of the car. Additionally the lights and blinkers don't work. There are bubbles and cracks forming and I haven't had the car for a month.I spoke with the owner, *************** and he said he would get back to me and I haven't heard from him.I would like $3,000 back so I can have the car repainted and the repairs made. This is reasonable offer as I paid more for the original work. The owner agreed to have the car back in four months and he exceeded the agreement and did a terrible job.

****************** brought his car to us on Nov 19, 2021. He picked it up on March 10, 2022. That is 3 months 19 days. He originally wanted it back at the end of February, but he wanted us to do additional work to it. This was a vandalism claim from his insurance company. Once we started the work, ***************** asked for additional work that wasnt covered in his insurance claim. The insurance company was only going to cover the vandalized paint damage, which was deep scratches. We did do some extra work at first at no cost. He would come by to inspect it every 2-3 weeks. Every time he came by he would ask us to do more extra work. We told him that any more extra work would be an additional cost to him. He said his budget wouldnt allow it, so we informed him that we couldnt do any more than our original plan. The car is an old car that was not kept in good condition. This car is 49 years old. There was previous work done on the car that was inferior and we informed him. The body had 4-5 previous paint jobs. We informed him that to ensure that the paint would last and not chip or crack in the future, we would have to strip all the previous paint off. He said he didnt want to pay any more, that wasnt in his budget and that he wanted a nice paint job and it wasnt going to be a "show car". (his words). We told him that we couldnt guarantee our paint job because of the thickness of the previous layers of paint already on the vehicle. We told him that the paint could be prone to crack, chip, split, more easily than normal. He again repeated that it wasnt a show car, and that he didnt want to add to the cost. As for the side marker lights not working, the side lights are old and the bulbs probably need replacing. Again more cost that he didnt want to pay for. I myself replaced his broken grille in front with a new aftermarket one at no cost to him. We do have a nameplate that goes on the grille that we misplaced but I have it now. At the time he picked up the car, I told him I would buy him a new one. He said thats ok, that he would be ok without one if I agreed to install a front spoiler for him at no cost. I agreed and installed it. After we painted the car, he was thrilled at how it looked and couldnt wait to show it off. 3 weeks later he called and wanted us to fix the side marker lights. I told him that since they were the originals, that they needed to be replaced. All the small parts of the car needed to be replaced. Taillights, headlights, plastic parts, mouldings, metal bolts and screws were bad and brittle and needed to be replaced. Again, not in his budget. We did more than we planned to do at no extra cost on this car. His rear backglass leaked and I told him that I could have a glass company reseal it but he said he didnt want to add to the cost. And the more we did, the more he wanted. My office number is ************ if you wish to talk to me directly.
