I am writing to formally address a concerning issue regarding the treatment of my grandmother, ***************************. In November of 2023, my grandmother sustained injuries resulting in fractures to one foot and a sprain to the other, necessitating her admission to Wagner Heights for treatment. She has been under their care since February of this year. In February, my grandmother was hospitalized due to pneumonia and expressed a desire to transfer to a rehabilitation facility closer to her residence. During this transition, it came to our attention that her personal belongings, including important notebooks, a tablet, a laptop, and clothing, were not accounted for by the staff.On March 4th, 2024, I personally visited the facility to retrieve her belongings as instructed. Regrettably, despite my efforts and interaction with the staff at the social services office within the premises, the items could not be located. I provided all necessary information and patiently awaited their response, yet to no avail. Subsequent attempts by my family to follow up on the matter have been met with unfulfilled promises of resolution and a lack of accountability. This experience has been both frustrating and deeply concerning. It is our firm belief that the mishandling and subsequent loss of my grandmother's personal effects reflect a significant lapse in the facility's duty of care and professionalism. Upon further research, it has come to our attention that similar incidents have been reported by other families with loved ones at this rehab center, indicating a systemic issue that warrants immediate attention and rectification.We implore the BBB to investigate this matter thoroughly and ensure that Wagner Heights upholds the highest standards of accountability and responsibility towards its patients and their belongings. It is imperative that such lapses are addressed promptly to prevent any further distress or inconvenience to families relying on the services of this institution.
