My complaint is against Campora Propane, specifically their ************** I discontinued our propane service with them on Feb. 23, 2023 and requested that they remove the tank we were leasing from them. The tank was not removed during the spring and summer. I called them again on September 14, 2023 to again request that the tank be removed by November 1. When I visited the property (this is a family second home) in mid October the tank was gone. I received a call from the manager at Campora on November 7 asking where the tank was. He stated that they attempted to pickup the tank on October 31 and that the tank was not at our property. ******, the manager, stated that I was liable for the cost of the tank (approximately $2500) and I would be receiving a bill for the tank. After receiving their bill I wrote a letter explaining that I would not accept liability for their tank as it had remained on our property for 7 months and that if it was in fact stolen they should contact the Placer County Sheriff. After several months of billing me for the tank and subsequent interest, now they are sending me to a collection agency. Further information- prior to our cancellation of service their driver did $4800 of damage to our driveway and retaining wall. They would not pay for the damages so I took them to small claims court and won a $4800 judgement which I was able to collect after involving the Placer County Sheriff.Initial Complaint

Called to cancel service December 2022. They constantly let our tank go empty even though I asked them to come more often and keep filled because we have very elderly person here and that is our heat. We ran completely out at least 3 times and they would never answer after hours so we switched companies. They said they could not pick tank up during winter which was fine. But the have been telling me since the end of March they would come get tank with in 30 days. I call once a month and get the same answer. I get we had a BIG winter this ************* behind but I need to do work on our driveway and was just told that this isnt their priority well I told her it is my priority because its in the way and I will file a complaint unless this is resolved. Im tired of getting strung along only because they are mad that I went with someone else. So this is the reason for complaint.Initial Complaint

Requested propane fill at my home on 3-10-2023. Called several times working on it. Called 3-27-23 said be out this week, Called again stated to out 3-30-23 no show, Called again stated to out 3-31-23 no show, Called again stated to out 4-01-23 no show, Called again 4-03-23 no show. Called again stated will be out 4-06-23, Finally service on 4-11-23. I asked for a manager to contact me no contact as of 4-05-23. Oh by the front office staff guaranty a call on Monday 4-3-23 to advise me of when service will be , no contact as of 4-5-23.Initial Complaint

Failure to deliver propane per contract. I have been trying to get propane for 4 weeks. They do not show up when they are supposed to. They do not call ahead like they are supposed to. The ****** has not been answering phones for 3 weeks. I got through once last week and was promised delivery on Friday 3/10/23 - No show Friday and ********* ****** not answering phones again this Monday.Business response

We called campora over a week ago to tell them something is wrong with our propane tank and we have no warm air coming into it house that we are FREEZING they told us it is probably the regulator and they would send someone out. Almost a week later and no one has come to our house to fix the problem we also let them know that we have a sick infant in our house! I have a 3 month old son thats sick. If my son ends up in the hospital because he is getting too cold Im going to loose it. They have told us twice someone is coming to help and no one has.Business response

Ive been with this propane company for at least 4years but in the last year, Ive been making all my payment prior to delivery, Ive had a bill of zero since July, then out of no where I get billed with a $216. of pass due amount, which I told them is Impossible because Ive been make all my payment prepaid before delivery and I have bills stating that I have no pass due amount, my last one being 12/9/2022 for 91.gallons of propane prepaid. Zero amount owed. Then I prepaid $500 for 100. Gallons of propane. End of January. And I got a bill of $216. in pass due amount, when I went to the office to speak with staff they where very unhelpful and rude pretty much told me that they had forgotten to bill me and it had built up over time, even tho I had been there In Person multiple times, prepaid for months and they had never informed me until now. And I also informed the staff that, I didnt received a receipt from the driver for my last delivery, I had just paid for 100 gallons and it had only been 15 days and I was out, I didnt feel they had put the whole 100 gallons in and since I didnt receive a delivery receipt I had no idea how much they put in. They told me there driver was to busy to leave customer there receipts. And refused to show any proof that I did receive the full 100. Gallons which would normally last me a month to 6weeks, once again the staff was extremely rude and Defensive. Driver in the past have always left receipt, this is the only time I hadnt received one. And they had also come and not put full amount paid but left receipts explaining why and how much was put in and would return a day or two later to put the rest in. I started receiving bills from them in may.I never ordered propane from them. I didnt even know they filled my tank until I started receiving late notices from them.Now they are threatening collection.I am not paying for their mistake. Im on a fixed income. This is extortion.Business response

We tried to reach out to **** multiple times but the phone number on the account was disconnected. We got a good working number due to this complaint. We have made multiple attempts to reach him through this working phone number. The phone calls go straight to voicemail. We have left multiple messages but have no reposnse back. Our documentation shows he called for this delivery but has not paid for it. It has been verified through the property mgmt that he currently resides at the location.Initial Complaint

On 11/30/22, I requested my propane tank be refilled. I was told there was a 2-week waiting list. I was scheduled for delivery on 12/12/22, at that time my tank was at 44%. On 12/12/22, I called at approximately 11:15 and was told the driver left their office a 1/2 hour ago and should be there shortly; my tank was at 18%. At around 2 pm, I called the office again because the driver had not shown up. I was told there were some emergencies, some people were "out" of propane, and my request *** not be filled. on 12/13/22, I called at 8:30 and asked if I was on the delivery route today. I was told yes but I don't think she was telling me the truth, only what I wanted to hear. I was also told that they were short drivers and that they "would try." I also told the office person that I had been rationing my propane for the past two weeks and that I was tired of being cold. (I work from home so it can't turn my heater off during the day). The driver did not show. Wednesday, 12/14/22, no delivery. I called Thursday, 12/15/22, and the lines were busy all day, I could not get through. I called Friday, 12/16/22, and the phone kept ringing, but no one answered. It's 12/19/22, and I cannot see the needle on the tank to determine what level I am at; all I know is that it's below 10%. I've been calling, but the "lines are busy, check back later", according to ********Initial Complaint

After 3 canceled appointments to fill our propane tank they told us its gonna be another week before they can fill our tanks and we will have to be without hot water and our stove which means no clean clothes no clean dishes and we cant cook or shower and after complaining about it they said they have multiple customers in the same position which means multiple customers are going without hot food or water for thanksgiving this is ridiculous!!! If you cannot provide your customers the service they pay for why are you in businessBusiness response
