I purchased a washing machine and dryer in April 2020 for over $3,000.00. Come to find out they never hooked up the vent and the gas line is too short. They charged me over $900.00 to "fix" their mistake. I will never buy anything from them again.

Customer purchased washer and dryer in April 2020. Both machines were delivered and installed on May 5, 2020. We didn't charge customer for installation, it was FREE. At the end of October 2021 she called our company complaining that the dryer smells like burning. We sent our Factory Certified technician to customer's house and he suggested the customer to clean the vent line. We never charged the customer $900.

We are sorry that a year and a half after the initial installation customer has an issue with the clogged vent pipe. It's customers responsibility to keep the vent clean.

I purchased a new refrigerator from Universal Appliance in Calabasas in January 2021. Shortly after delivery it developed a spot on the front door. It started very small, but grew in size. I called Universal's repair dept. and set up an appt. They dropped my first call claiming that I never called. The second time a technician came out, saw the spot, claimed it was a manufacturing defect, took pictures and left. 5 weeks went by without a call so I contacted them to follow up. First they told me the technician did not find anything wrong, then they tried to blame me for using improper cleaning solutions (the spot is inside the door panel with no access to cleaning solutions), lastly they refused to honor the warranty. I called GE and they'll send out an authorized technician to verify my claim...we'll see what they say. Please be warned about doing business with this company.

Dear Mark. Thank you for your review. We are very sorry that you had difficulty in reaching a satisfactory outcome so far. We are looking into the early communication breakdown, as that should not have occurred, no matter what. Putting that issue aside for the moment, we have investigated your claim and debriefed the technician who visited your home. The inescapable reality is that GE will not cover cosmetic defects. This SQUARELY falls into that category. If they do make the exception for you, your course of action in reaching out to them directly, will prove to be the most effective one. They are not typically responsive to us in these matters as a service provider, and are far more sensitive to the end consumer. We genuinely appreciate your frustration, and whereas our team could have been far more artful in communicating with you, despite their overwhelming workload, the fact remains that this sort of repair falls outside of our ability to be able to resolve it for you without GE's direct action. So to be 100% clear, it's not about us not wanting to honor GE's warranty... there is none for this (unless they make a special exception for you).

We hope they come through for you.

Not good enough!!! It shouldn't be this difficult for you to reach out to GE, showing the pictures your tech took, and getting a new door panel from GE. The defect is clearly behind a glass cover, and the spot keeps growing in size. MANUFACTURING DEFECT.

Your service dept. did not even try to contact GE, instead tried try to blame me for the damage.
Your service dept. did not even try to contact me with information about this issue. Instead they abandoned my repair without a single word.

I'm very disappointed with these results. I have purchased several appliances from Universal over the years, but no more.
I'll be sure to tell my friends and neighbors what kind of service they can expect.

Dear Mark, We contacted GE business relations, but they couldn't help us based on the cosmetic warranty policy. You, as a consumer, will be able to make a complaint and they will definitely help you. I am sorry, but unfortunately if you have a problem that is not covered by the Warranty, you have to contact the manufacture yourself and ask for an exception.
