When I was interviewed to adopt Biscotti I was pretty specific with the fact I have a 16+ year old small, 7 lb.-senior dog, ******, and I needed a dog that would be good with him and the cat. First off, ****** is a bit bigger than 13lbs listed on the website, and has A LOT of puppy energy. I think he would do better with a yard to run in. This wasn't mentioned on the ad or by the interview. The day after we picked him up he snarled and lunged at my friend's poodle, we had to restrain ****** - the poodle didn't act aggressively towards ****** at any point. Then on Tuesday, ****** was eating and my old guy, ******, walked up near him. ****** rushed at him and bowled him over and was barking at him and holding him down with his paw. He stopped when I verbally scolded him. I let it go as food aggression and decided to keep them separate when eating even though they'd been eating treats together since I got ******. On Wed., ****** was sitting on a dog bed and chewing a toy and ****** was about 10 ft away not making any moves towards ******. I turned my head into the other room to talk to my wife and about a minute later there were snarls and growling. ****** had gotten off the bed and walked to ****** to growl at him, and stopped when he saw me come back into the room. Then about an hour later, he just suddenly charged and pinned ******, aggressively barking and snapping. My wife yelled at him and he ran off, but this was an unprovoked attack. There were no food or treats near-by. This is now a safety issue for my old dog. ****** is very chill and has always gotten along with other dogs, and at his age he's not acting aggressively. He's lost muscle mass and is getting very stiff, he cannot be thrown around by a bigger dog anymore, he could break a bone easily. I don't trust ****** since I don't know why he was triggered. They had been getting along well. DPS will not even discuss this with me. I would like my money back-770 as they misrepresented the dog.

While I do think that some healthy dogs are adopted through this organization. I also think it's not a legitimate non-profit. They insist on a non-refundable $50 deposit to even see the dog you're hoping to adopt. Their site has no information whatsoever about who runs it. (All non-profits needs to display the names of their board members.) And if you look on their site, the address is a PO BOX in some place called Romoland, CA. I looked it up and it's an unincorporated town in the middle of the desert in southern california. Strange since the organization says it's from Palo Alto. It's a money-making scheme. Poor animals.
