In May 2022, Tammie ****************** was hired for assistance seeking dissolution of the marriage between *********************** and *******************. All of the requested documents were provided in May 2022, again in September 2022, again in December 2022, and again in May 2023 (notarized). ******************* presented in person for the court hearing in ******, ** on August 22, 2023 while Ms. ****************** presented via telephone. Ms. ****************** was grossly unprepared and Judge *********************** set a second hearing for April 16, 2024 and advised Ms. ****************** to submit the necessary documents to avoid having to appear again in April. Ms. ****************** has been unresponsive at times and unprofessional, demonstrating an inability to make the corrections notated on the **** Courthouse rejection notice dates 2/29/24. Seeking her recusal from this case or the completion of the documents necessary before the April 16, 2024 hearing.

      Business response

I did not represent Ms. **** in this matter. I represented Ms ****s ex husband, ***********. *** **** paid me nothing and she did not retain my services. Please understand I was not and am not her attorney. I owe her no duties.

Nonetheless, I made sure that she was informed of the process and her case status and further that she received a fair deal in her divorce.

Ms. **** chose not to acquire her own counsel. She's did not understand the process, nor the importance of responding promptly and thoroughly to my requests. Moreover, she did not appreciate the importance of seemingly insignificant errors in her paperwork. These resulted in court rejections which caused more delay.

Additionally, the Court process is a slow process. It was even longer coming out of the pandemic. It takes months to process divorce agreements normally, it was taking even longer. And even small errors or even a change in court procedure can cause additional months of delay.

I spent extra time explaining the process to Ms.****; encouraging her to seek her own attorney, writing to her and sharing with her various legal options, without advising her, supporting her ability to make a knowledgeable decision. She responded when she had time or felt comfortable. She chose not to get her own counsel, who could have explained all of this to her and helped her with her documents.

In the end, the entire matter was resolved without conflict outside of court. We only appeared by telephone for a case status conference. The parties got divorced without conflict and Ms.**** paid nothing to me for my work for ************. She didnt even pay postage for the judgment.
