We contracted 911 insulation to do the insulation in our home. The job was done but in the process, the worker removed some old unplugged AC ducts that contained asbestos and brought them through the home to take them outside. He also knew that they contained asbestos because he came up to us and then said he was going to talk with his boss to see what to do with them. He did not come back to talk to us before taking them down. Before we knew it, the old AC ducts were already on the lawn, another contamination. We contacted and spoke with the manager who refused to cover the cost of asbestos testing. These AC ducts were improperly handled, they were not placed into bags or sprayed down with water to prevent asbestos spores or dust from getting into the air (and the house) when carried. We had to spend an extra $1600 on top of what we paid for the insulation costs, which we did not expect. They are not licensed to do asbestos removal and should have left the ducts where they were. The least they could have done is to reimburse us for the cost of testing.
