After several visits to the Simply Slabulous showroom and two visits by ***** ********** to our home, we received plans for our kitchen remodel and a quote for the scope of work. On 5/22/21 I sent her a check for 50% of the cabinets so she could order and get started on the work. At that time ***** estimated work on my kitchen would begin in August. I received an email stating that she had received my deposit about a week later. I heard nothing more from her for two months, so in early August of 2021 I stopped into the shop because I was in the area and wanted an estimate of the start date. At that time ***** indicated that due to the supply chain issues caused by the pandemic she was expecting delivery of the cabinets in early November. Again in September I communicated with her via text message that I was expecting visiting family in November and I wanted to hear from her concerning the start date of the work. She did not answer me. I contacted her again two weeks later because I hadn't heard anything and I was back to work and needed to know particulars about what was going on. She again didn't answer me. I waited another two weeks and called her business. I spoke to her assistant who expressed that she knew of my project and would have ***** call me within 24 hours. This young lady called me back to relay she had spoken to ***** and that she (*****) would call me back herself the next day with information about my cabinets. She never did. I had a mutual friend contact her and she indicated she would immediately call me. She never did. On 6/1/22 I sent her a registered letter asking for my money back within 7 days. She did send me an email saying that she couldn't come up with my cash in that period of time, but she said she'd sent $2,500 now and make arrangements for the rest. I received the check but haven't cashed it as I'm concerned that would look like I was accepting that as full payment. I have heard nothing since that email.Business response

I sent Mr. & Mrs. ******** an email after they contacted me about their cabinets. I am still waiting for a refund from the cabinet maker for this job and several others. I have also been ill from a recluse spider bite, and have not been working full time since, so it is taking longer than anticipated to get the full refund amount. I sent Mr. & Mrs. ******** a $2500.00 check as the first payment towards their refund, which they did not cash. I never heard back from them until they filed with the BBB. It is my intention to refund the balance of the cabinet deposit money as soon as possible.Sincerely,***** D*********
